To keep in the same key as the song is written in so it uses the closest note in the key to whatever other note is being played, and whatever it is, it's written in the context of the note that is in key.

The quick answer is I use the green screen function in iMovie. Layer the synthesia file (which I retrieve from doing a screen capture of it running) on top of the image, and greenscreen the gray part.
