The reporting, while technically accurate, could have been more clear. To clarify, the city settled a lawsuit with the families for $2 million. The families only filed a federal lawsuit for $500 million against Texas DPS; that lawsuit is still pending and has not been settled.

Tells us there were problems with the lawsuit against the city. 2 million minus attorney fees and costs divided by 19. Hate to mention the line from "The Gambler" here, but "You got to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em, know when to walk away, know when to run."

The attorney at the settlement announcement put it bluntly: "For 77 minutes 26 armed police officers did nothing against an 18-year-old armed with an AR-15..." (paraphrasing)

Rest in peace little angels. Justice has not been served. This is heartbreaking. While my daughter and wife whom is a educator are at school this scares me because it was no longer a possibility it was a piece of our history now.

This blame game reminds me of how everyone blames the devil to leave gods hands clean. Those same people then must accept that the devil is stronger than god or that god and the devil are 1 in the same. Or they don't exist at all. Uvalde taught me a strong lesson about religion and faith. One I have been waiting for my whole life but at the same time knew it all along. They say " ask god to show himself to you and he will ", they were right, god showed me himself in the form of Uvalde.

No amount of money can heal the womb of losing your child in such a horrific way because of incompetence. This is why there are so many bad cop situations because they are simply not equipped for the job.
