On the other hand, you'd presume the survivor, by default, is the winner. It takes a lot for alternate records to even come out, let alone be accepted, unless the evidence is huge for the alternate.

I feel like you can't really write history unless you won lol, practically any regime would shut down writing about the nation/group/person/whatever they defeated in a positive light

@@techelitesareadisease8816 Technically speaking, the Mongols beat the crap out of almost everyone, and they're still spoken of in a relatively negative light (of course, their contributions were written of as well) by most of their occupied people. In this case, the Mongols were the winners, but the survivors (the original people who continued onwards after the mongol empire decayed) were the ones that wrote history (as far as I know).

@@techelitesareadisease8816 while having a good victory record is pretty nice for keeping your history alive. Its much more important (as far as history records go) to make sure that your history survive, whether it be by oral, or written because then you always eave a record of your culture/history behind. Also there are time where history has been written by the loser. For example much of what the average person know about the 3 kingdom era, shu han are written pretty much ss the good guys and Wei as the bad guys. Another two big one are the Lost clause and the cean wehrmacht myths that come largely from the loser in victory. Sorry for the long tangent but its just that when somone said "history is written by the victors" it rustle my Jimmy because thats not how history work and is in some circle use as a deflection of actual history in favor of their psudeogistory.History is more offen then not like serious trivia said is written by the the survivor (and historian/writter).

I hope that when we get to the military campaings, you mention every single conflict/battle large and small (skirmish), because I'm curious to know if Cao Wei had ANY military victories (no matter how small, short lived or insignificant) during Cao Pi's reing. Great video by the way.
