Between Cao Pi murdering his faithful wife just so he can bone his concubine on the empress' bed, Sun Quan destroying the faithful Shi clan because they were taking care of his lands too well and Liu Bei stabbing anyone with the name "Liu" in the back I really don't know who to root for anymore... Maybe the yellow turban were right, burn it all down.

But Lady Zhen seems to encourage Cao Pi to take more concubines. She doesn't mind. IMO I think Cao Pi just didn't trust her in the end. The Sima Yi tv series portrayed it quite nicely.

Interesting. Also,adding to what you said,Cao Pi being obedient and follow his court suggestion wholeheartedly by naming Zhen Ji as Empress sets a very dangerous precedent,dangerous as in the court would have this mindset of "hey we could manipulate this new emperor the way they,the cao regime previously puppeteering the last Han emperor" Cao Pi knowing full well of how that machination works will definitely resist that. and it is very in line of Cao Pi's supposed astuteness of court politics. Liu Xie also suffer the same fate of being forced to change his Empress if i remember correctly and am sure Cao Pi wouldn't want to follow his footsteps in that regard.

Regarding Cao Rui not lashing out against Empress Dowager Guo, he would have probably just bided his time and waited for the right opportunity to exact revenge - like quid pro quo. And court historians are obviously going to cover up facts and extoll the virtues of their liege-lord, as a way to save their heads and their bias or perceptions.

Nine years….and let her die of old age then honor her family members with title and bury her in the imperial tomb. Doesn’t sound like revenge
@jayanthkn70562 жыл бұрын
@@SeriousTrivia actually it's the best form of revenge... imperial tomb is convenient to hide the punishment, regarding awarding the family members, could be political decision or maybe he was lenient, or just wanted to show that the family members were innocent and had done nothing against him so he rewarded them. Who knows, probably the unwritten reality was that Lady Zhen had a blood pact with Sima Yi to protect Cao Rui because she had fallen out of favour with Cao Pi, plus rumors abound that Cao Rui was actually not his. Maybe upon hearing her death, Sima Yi frantically kidnapped Cao Rui, rushed him over to one of Cao Pi's concubine (and his sister-in-law) and had Cao Rui swear that she is his new mother to protect him. 🤷 Also, despite references to The Advisor's Alliance, interestingly you chose Cao Pi of 2010 San Guo as your thumbnail.

Hey Serious Trivia, 1. Did The Advisors Alliance did great job on Cao Rui the show made him act more like a adult version of Joffrey from Game of Thrones and he was extremely ruthless, cruel, arrogant, sadistic, malicious, egotistical, remorseless and tyrannical ruler, because his mother was put to death and his father Cao Pi never realize he indirectly created a monster and was the historically one was any like that in a way and I heard he killed a number of his attendants and order his Empress to death as well? 2. Question in your fates divided Cao Cao faction preview you stated you don't like Lady Zhen's portrait by CA, and why is that and did CA even got the historic accuracy right and from up close it looks great to me?
@SeriousTrivia2 жыл бұрын
1. I think it did a good job on Cao Rui. While not exactly like the version in the show, Cao Rui was very crafty and cruel. He also had a lot of issues with gender identity and women which led to his early death as he did cross dress and had way too many concubines (over ten thousand). And yes, he too sentenced his empress to death. 2. Just a personal preference.

their relationship was good but when Cao pi ascend the throne Zhen ji was suppsed to be empress later but a women called Guo Nuwang came and told lies about Zhen ji to Cao pi. telling Cao pi that Zhen Ji's son is not him and that son is yuan xi's. so basically Cao pi was enraged that Zhen ji was hiding this and decided to execute her. but he thought for some time and thought Zhen Ji would never do that. So Guo Nuwang became closer to Cao Pi eventually seducing him. Zhen ji was enraged and she confronted Cao pi. then Cao pi was enraged so he send a team force her to commit suicide as now he thought Zhen ji was using him and that her son was not his. . Zhen ji died but her son was actually Cao pi's son. Guo Nuwang became empress later. soon zhen ji's son became the emperor. Zhen Ji had a friend called Lady li who is another wife of Cao pi. This girl told the hidden truth about Zhen ji's death to her son and how Guo Nuwang was the main reason. she also told that even after zhen ji's death Guo Nuwang treated her dead body harshly. Guo Nuwang put rice husks to her mouth so she will never speak and she also covered Zhen ji;s eyes with Zhen ji's hair so she will be blind in her next soul. Zhen ji's son was so angry that the same day he executed Guo Nuwang by forcing her to commit suicide the same way Zhen Ji died. and also treated her body harshly as well. legends say that lady Li sneaked passed Guo Nuwang and took out rice husks from zhen ji's mouth and also removed her hair from her face. ut Guo Nuwang got the treatment no matter what. THERE IS also a theroy why zhen ji was supposed to be empress later. Guo Nuwang probaly had something to do with Zhen ji becoming the empress because cao pi loved zhen ji so much that he prepared arrangements for zhen ji becoming the empress but it all stopped. after zhen ji's death Lady Li thought that Guo Nuwang will tell lies to zhen ji's child about Zhen ji being a bad woman and a queen, so She begged Cao pi to give the control of the child to herself as cao pi was supposed to give the control to Guo Nuwang. because Lady Li begged Cao pi eventually gave the control to Lady Li.

in wikipedia. but i have visited china and there were books about han dynasty. one such book had information about Lady Zhen's death and how lady Li was part of the reason why Guo Nuwang died. Lad Li's part is not confirmed though as according to that book it said that Lady Li's part is not confirmed, but because there are many mentions about Lady Li in Lady Zhen's death makes me believe that Lady Li's part is true. besides how did Cao Rui knew about Guo Nuwang's part Zhen ji's death. I'm not really sure about Cao Pi thinking about Zhen ji's punishment though. there was like 1 sentence in wikipedia that indicates Cao Pi might have saved Zhen Ji if she didn't died early, which makes me think that Zhen Ji died some days earlier before her actual day in which she was supposed to die. But I'm pretty sure about Lady Li's part because she was mentioned a lot in most sources related to Zhen Ji's death. @@SeriousTrivia

The main issue when seeing Chinese pinyin is that often you are seeing them without the tone markers which tells you how to pronounce the vowel. For example in our Cao Rui and Cao Rui showcase from episode one, I showed the two accent markers to denote that they are actually different tone which is why you find Cao Zhi’s i to sound different from Cao Pi’s i. Also in addition to that the Chinese pinyin P sound is a rather harsh P sound by itself which also contribute to this
@eliu8682 жыл бұрын
Adding on an interesting point: the "r" or "er sound at the end is an accent feature characteristic of Northern Chinese accents. This is not so characteristic in the south. As someone whose family hails from Chengdu in the south, "Zhur" sounds quite harsh to me personally.
