I wasn't ready for her son's picture at the end. He looked just like his mother. Well here I am at 3am crying uncontrollably. Out of all the Secret Santa episodes this one is THE one. What an incredible gift to have that emotional financial burden lifted off her shoulders and give her and her family a headstone to visit.

Oh my. this one really hit home for me. If you've never shopped for a headstone, and I hope you don't have to any time soon, they are expensive and go up in price every year. My son passed away in 2009. Every time I get just enough to cover the cost of a 12 x 24 flat stone, either the price goes up or something necessary breaks, like the water heater, the air conditioner (I'm in Texas), the garage door fell. You get what I'm saying. He still has no marker, but I know where he is buried and keep flowers out to mark the spot. I can't even begin to try to imagine the pain of losing a child. On top of that, dealing with an autoimmune disorder. I will be praying for this family. What a handsome young man he was. Yeah, he seems like a really solid guy, and very empathetic. I appreciate the way he allows people to experience whatever emotions they're having, gives them time to speak, and lets them process what's happening in whatever way they're capable of, without trying to prompt a certain response... even if that means some awkward moments, and not always getting the reaction you might expect. Please, find some time to go through grief counseling - maybe join a grief group. I always though therapy was a waste, and I was forced into against my will. I went in with an open mind and an open heart though, and it was a remarkable experience - especially group therapy. You will never be the same, but you can be made whole again. Do it for yourself and your sons, and for the loved ones you have yet to meet who will come along in your new future. You will find love where to least expect it, you just need to know how to recognize it when it comes your way.
