Tango is a dance, but I'm guessing it was included in the context of the famous saying "it takes two to tango", which usually isn't used in reference to the dance itself. The only example I really know of where the saying applies would be when one spouse cheats on the other. Whether it's the cheating spouse to blame, or the one he or she is cheating with, neither one are acting alone, thus "it takes two to tango".

Let's face it-Richard Dawson was the definitive host for this show. He's the reason the show is still “successful” today. I only put quotation marks because it's much too dirty nowadays (nothing against Steve Harvey).
@cameronpottle5409Ай бұрын
Differences I'm noticing between this and modern family feud: - Obviously he's explaining every aspect of the show because it's the pilot, I imagine that stopped after this. The show is very self explanatory. - The board is square and tan as opposed to a blue oval. - Points are not doubled or tripled depending on the round - Only the first people on the team went up to the reflex button, the rest of the family stayed where they were. - The reflex button has a different buzzer sound - While the audience would still clap for stupid answers, the family themselves would *_not_* also partake in the clapping and shouting of "GOOD ANSWER" to saying something as stupid as "Alligator" when asked for a three letter animal and would, instead, look visibly disappointed and distressed. - Richard Dawson seems to really want to rag on that one guy, I haven't seen anything like it barring jaw droppingly stupid answers like "September" when asked during which month of pregnancy the woman starts looking pregnant. - Fast money only wins you $500 - The first round of fast money only gives you fifteen seconds to think of answers. I am aware that this was normal in the earlier seasons of Family Feud but it has since changed to be twenty. The second round also only has twenty where as in modern Family Feud it is twenty-five. By comparison it feels like it should be too long but maybe this accounts for the typical Family Feud host melodrama I also don't know this for a fact, but I also think this episode was scripted. Honestly, even modern Family Feud is probably still scripted to a degree (probably just "Family A, say X number of stupid answers, Family B, just say one but make it extra stupid so we get more views" since we already know that Family Feud casts families based on how entertaining they are. To that end, we also know that people who audition to be on the show are typically egged onto be extra dramatic and over the top about things for the camera - it's like an early version of "for the vine"). But this feels like every *_answer_* was scripted. When people had an answer, they were quick with it unless it was a family trying to steal, when they didn't, they didn't fumble around and try to think of something quickly on the spot, they just kinda said things along the lines of "Oh gee Richard, I do not know. This sure is a pickle!". And besides explaining every aspect of the show like I said in my first bullet point, basically every possible outcome of the show (except a family failing fast money) was shown in this episode, including the sudden death round which is probably the rarest thing to happen on the show besides someone winning fast money in one round. Richards decision to specifically rag on that one guy who looked like he was made by Mattel also felt forced in ways that it didn't in future episodes. It just feels to me like this episode was scripted with the express purpose of showing how the show worked, that it was supposed to be more humor oriented than something like Jeopardy, and that basically what to expect from concurrent episodes. Which are generally all hallmarks of pilot episodes for scripted televised programmings.
