Family Feud SNES -- Ridiculous Answers

The Batman family dispenses needlessly verbose justice upon the shell-shocked Booth family. A deal must have been struck with Mr. Combs backstage, as the answers he accepts are... a slight degree removed from the answers on the board.
This TAS was inspired (maybe even shamelessly copied) from the original done by heisanevilgenius which you should watch here: • Video
All answers entered would have been accepted on an actual console. The only tool-assisted trickery going on here is the speed at which answers are typed and the questions that were manipulated to appear in order to have the maximum number and quality of answers.

Wow, that is a huge oversight on the developers part. Luckily, it doesn't really matter. The chances of any wrong answer being counted as correct during normal gameplay is extremely slim, even if some of the answers are only 3 letters(which gives you the highest possible chance that this will happen). The way this works is you just have to have all the letters that are in the correct answer in the correct order?

That's the basics of it, coupled with the fact that sometimes it will take shortened answers. It doesn't check for double letters or S's at the end of words (noodles can be nodle) and some alternate spellings or words can be used (glamour can be glamor).

Cheeseman Here's an example that I made: "Name something a family does together." Normally the number one answer would be "Eat." As long as you have the letters E, A, and T in that order somewhere in the puzzle (They don't necessarily have to be right next to each other) For example, I can answer "Abuse the parsing system" to the above question, and the game it as "Eat." abusE the pArsing sysTem = EAT. Of course, like batman9502 mentioned, there are things that the parsing system will take that are shortened, or alternate spellings and words, hence the game parsed "Cute Cat Photos Monthly" ("Cute cat phOtoS MOnthly") as "Cosmo," and accepted it as "Cosmopolitan."

This game brings back such nostalgia. There I'd be in front of my CRT television, a stack of Pigeon Poop Unlimited magazines at my side and big bag of Zebra Jerky so I didn't need to go anywhere, playin' the Fued. Then we'd pile in the back of our Station Wagon and head over to Ryan's, where I'd always get the Emu Talon Fajita special. Memories.

I think it just looks for the letters in the answer while ignoring all other letters; for example, in heisanevilgenius’ own hilarious TAS of this game, there were examples like “BUllSh*t BostOn lawYer” being accepted as BUSBOY (capital letters). Though there may be a few more wrinkles, as it seems to sometimes ignore double letters, and look for synonyms and abbreviations (ie, “ogres allowed sparingly” somehow came out as “keep off the grass” in the other video, and I think the conclusion is it was just matching “grass” and ignored the double S).

This gameplay is "tool-assisted," which means I can utilize things like savestates and frame advance to enter input as fast as possible. For example, I can save a state, let the game display the question, get all the answers, then reload to that first state. By doing that I know the question in advance. The emulator only keeps the inputs after I have loaded the state, so the end result is you see me answer questions before they are shown.
