Except that the rule of parodies is that they have to be short. Most successful parodies are only sketch-length. A select few are genius enough to keep the joke going for a full hour and a half movie. A whole series? That’s extremely rare. I can only think of one, and even that is hit-and-miss and not universally loved. That show was “Sledge Hammer”. Edit: And many would say “Police Squad!”as well, but that was more than parody. It had its own style of comedy that worked without being a parody. The style of humor existed outside the realm of parody.

You forgot to make them have intense relationship drama that lasts for *waaay* too fucking long over something that could be sorted out with a single conversation but instead is often solved with characters *not* talking - allowing the writers to stretch those non-existent plot points potentially over multiple seasons before finally concluding it in a 'satisfying' way where neither character did anything actually bad so there's no moral ambiguity in the main characters; leaving them as bland as possible to not upset the audience of over-invested self-inserts.
