I always thought that Mr. Weed chocked to death too quickly on that roll, it was in his throat for less time than it was in Brian's throat and Brian got resuscitated. I know it happened that way just for laughs, but they shouldn't have.

Mr. Weed was apparently homosexual, and was more attracted to muscular guys such as the athlete in season 1 episode "A hero sits next door" where he played on the company baseball team but then got injured. Mr. Weed told Peter to replace him or he's fired, so he got Joe to come and replace him. Since we knew he was gay, you could tell by the way Mr. Weed treated Peter that he was definitely not attracted to him, and he found Peter unattractive. But Mr. Weed found Joe attractive since he had that strong rugged look like the other athlete had who was injured, Mr. Weed tells Peter "You brought me this very attractive but handicapped player?", lol, and didn't really care he was wheelchair bound. Peter, of course, wasn't bothered by Mr. Weed not finding him attractive since he is not gay.

In the episode where Joe gets introduced, Peter actually could never have gotten fired from the factory because if he did, then he could’ve sued Mr. Weed for unlawful termination since Guillermo’s injury was an accident that didn’t happen due to employee negligence because no one can always be accurate with their pitches nor was it in the workplace to begin with. It also would be unfair because Mr. Weed wouldn’t have a logical reason for firing Peter to begin with.

Mr. Weed was probably just blowing hot air because he was upset that he lost his best player (and a guy he was attracted to). But I agree with you that it would've been wrong if he fired Peter for that. Now in the episode where Peter sexually harassed that woman with that inappropriate joke, Mr. Weed had a more understandable reason to fire Peter then, even on the spot. He definitely should've fired Peter if he didn't successfully complete the workplace sensitivity training and retreat. But he did, so Peter remained at the toy company for several more episodes until Mr. Weed choked to death on that roll.
