In the lore, the guy had them hold their fire due to paperwork because the Senate actually had enough power to mess with the military's ability to shoot manned escape pods and he didn't want to deal with the office work from shooting an unmanned one. So, ironically, terrorists got a superweapon's plans because the Empire had too much democracy/republic left in it.

It foreshadowed that the First Order would be fascists enamoured with Red signifying their Republican link and party affiliation and that the Dick Cheney reference was a reference to Cheney's nickname as the Darth Vader of US Politics. Also, it's a reference to him being the most powerful VP in US history because he took Bush's job and made it his own. No wonder you see Bush Jr. as incompetent as he had been doing nothing at all.

What did Family Guy do to the sequels? Blue Harvest was like "it was awesome! I love it! I can't wait for another sequel!" to "the sequel is meh" and not to mention the last one was like "boring!" Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed them. Just curious on what you guys think. The ratings for Blue Harvest was really high and then the sequels shrunk the ratings.
