3:40 I have found myself in so many arguments like these online, it's not even funny. The strangest part is after providing a dozen links or so, they'll still claim "you have no proof." They won't even provide like... alternative links, or links to articles that don't say the things they claim they do, it's just 100% denial. I've even tried pointing out that "I have provided several links, do you need me to come into your house and physically click on them for you?" but that has never gotten a response. That'll either be the point where they finally "give up" (i.e. stop replying, block, and make a second post saying "that guy/girl (whatever they think I am) sure never could provide a source!"), or they'll reply to an earlier version of the thread and continue on with the argument as if nothing happened.

And even a _bad_ source is better than anyone making some baseless claim "based on their learnings." When arguing with someone who "just knows this stuff, trust me, bruh" every claim become unfalsifiable, and their whole argument becomes a series of them saying "Nuh-uh!" I understand your feelings because I also care for animals, but there is actually a reason behind euthanizing horses that have broken legs. It's much worse for a horse than it is for a human. Horse bones are very light compared to the heaviness of the rest of the body. This means horses can run fast, but it also means when the leg breaks, the sheer weight of the animal causes it to bend and splinter into many pieces. It's so bad that even if you were able to reconstruct it, the bone would be deformed and unable to support the horse any longer. Add that to the other three legs receiving additional stress with an unusable leg, and the horse will be in constant agonizing pain for what is likely to be a very short life. Because horses have thin legs with not a lot of tissue, fractures often become open fractures, which massively increases the risk of infection. Sometimes simple fractures can be healed with the proper care and equipment, but compound and displaced fractures are extremely unlikely to ever heal properly. It's very sad, but horses aren't being killed for no reason. They simply can't recover the way a human or some other animals can. I hope that someday we'll have the technology to change that.
