There’s always subcultures of people who’s entire identity is to obsess over and hate something. I get sucked into it a little myself as well sometimes because it is fun to pick apart things I think are garbage especially with a lot of other people. There are also people who dedicate themselves to combatting dislikers of the media. Star Wars new shows are a good example. End of the day, I’ll shit on something I dislike and then enjoy something I do like. Not going to join a community either way with a pitchfork in hand ready to spend hours battling it out on Twitter. I have a life to live.

South Park fans need to watch this video lol. You know how Rick & Morty fans are perceived as the “you need a higher iq to understand the show” type crowd? Well South Park fans are essentially that now. They’re still trying to keep this ongoing “war” between Family Guy and South Park, even tho Seth never engaged with it and just simply thought Matt and Trey’s jokes about Family Guy were funny. That’s it. How many times do I have to hear them circle jerk about how their favorite show’s writing is “intelligent with deep meanings”, just to ultimately shit on Family Guy at the end lmao

I mean for me, I find the writing of family guy to be a bit lazy right now, with the need to cram a cutaway gag or a joke that doesn't make sence into every second of its runtime. While there are some moments that are funny to clip, watching an episode as a whole feels incredibly wierd, as there is no context. If family guy was just a collection of short jokes and cutaway gags instead of trying to tell their "stories" I think it would be a lot better recieved.

Family Guy haters in KZbin comments can come off as annoying because they often seem to pop up just to criticize the show, even when it's not the focus of the discussion. It's like they can't resist taking a jab at it, which can be frustrating for fans who just want to enjoy a clip or a discussion without negativity. But at the same time, I get that they're probably just passionate about what they do and don't like in comedy, even if it sometimes feels like they're raining on someone else's parade

As someone who genuinely loves family guy I do agree with some criticism like “they’re mean, newer seasons are dogshit” doesn’t mean I think family guy is dead or just dogshit I personally just don’t find that much enjoyment in some newer seasons than others

I like Family Guy. Does it has problems? Yes. But it's funny, and that's all that matters with Family Guy. And while I'm not going to act like every single criticism with Family Guy is wrong, especially in its newer season (Seriously, that Family Guy Trump episode was literally every single Donald Trump joke with nothing new added), I feel like the show gets hated, because it's an easy target, and it's because it's something not serious, which animation critics tend to have a bias towards.

I guess it is kinda cringe. I dont really care one way or the other about family guy. I know some people used to love it, and dont now, and I think thats why people are so passionate, but to me its always been "that vulgar adult show thats trying and failing to be the simpsons" I never watched it and dont plan on putting any effort into hating on it.
