mash was a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in which doctors were saving men who were injured on the front line. Alan Alda was the mc who cracked wise jokes but had a few serious moments. Would recommend started watching it when i was 18 now 28 and the humor is gold.

Another joke that most people don't notice is Peter's line "they can't take that away from me." It's a reference to a jazz standard called "They Can't Take That Away From Me." M*A*S*H was a war comedy drama that ran from '72 to '83. It's about a MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit during the Korean war. Alan Alda played one the main characters "Hawkeye" It was based on a movie, that was based on a book. The show leaned pretty hard into comedy in the beginning, but it started to lean more into drama as the show went on, some people didn't like it. Personal opinion is that the whole series is worth a watch.
