Hypnotism generally doesn't work on people who doesn't consent to it though. You have to be willing to be manipulated and go along with it, and even then it's fairly limited how much hypnotism can really do; you're certainly not just going to become a different person out of the blue by the snap of a finger. There are certain subliminal methods that can work without you being consciously aware of it, but not to the extreme extent like in the episode :P

Babs ringtone sounds chipper and delightful, like imagine if you had the best dinner (actual food) of your life and you want another helping of that food, while carters is brash and sounds deep, like someone who just discovered so horrifyingly terrible that it just destroys their relationship with the person, and of course he’s also going to blame the person who had a hand in it, both of them because (despite all his faults and actions in the past) you just found out your son in law…well, no need to go into that, but yeah, I like how the ringtones shows their reactions and emotions to the event.
