Depending if it's like target or hello fresh, they'll take that and send you a new one. If it's like a gift from a friend, they get it back and we usually try to figure some type of compensation. Even then it's not so cut and dry. If it's an open package (like a box of paperclips) we pay the company back and they send you a new one. Then we just have a loose box of paper clips lol. If you just flat out refuse it because you don't want it or you canceled it, then it's still returned to the shipper and they have to decide what to do with it. Regardless we're usually fine taking it back because we're paid for it's shipping either way.
