It's 3 in the morning. It's extremely painful. I use a shot glass and hot white vinegar for any infection. Hot salt water will help pull the infection out too. I use warm water and apple cider vinegar. I soak it for 15 minutes once or twice a day. Works great! I've actually seen it pull the infection out...pretty gross, but mesmerizing at the same time xD

I am currently going through this. Pulsing pain on finger finger and I went to the doc and she gave me antibiotics and told bae to soak it but it needed to be drained..I took matters into my own hands and drained it since she couldn’t that day it’s healing great.

I've been using warm salt water and soaking it for 15 minutes, four times a day. Yellow pus came out of it the following day which I cut away with some nail clippers. Then applied peroxide and alcohol, Neosporin immediately after. Continue soaking it daily until redness goes away.

I was doing this....soaking the finger in warm soapy water 3 times a day, putting tea oil and wrapping it up also adding Vaseline. It got worse. It's going to turn green soon afterwards....it's so painful. I had to cut my finger open and finally got relief. Before cutting it open, you can feel the bacteria biting and sucking and it got to a point where soaking, cleaning and applying tea tree oil no longer helped. Cut it open after soaking it really good.....my finger healed completely in like 3 days afterwards.... the skin will peel off too.😁

Typically tap water is hot enough extended periods of time 4-5 minutes run it under the sink 4-5 times a day for a couple days. Try to squeeze some of the abscess out if there is any, and actually try to get some soap under in it also and let it sit for a minute or two.

Apparently I cut my nail at the corner of my finder to far down the nail. My finger is red, swollen and painful. I have done this before, long time ago. I cannot remember what I did for it at that time ( I know I did not seek medical attention) this time I chose to soak mine in straight vinegar with the mother root. I don't know that it has to be with the mother root, just what I happen to have at home. I am soaking for about half hour, then squeeze the infection out. Hurts like hell when I squeeze it, but infection does come out I continue to squeeze each time until the only thing coming out is a like a pinkish red liquid is all that comes out. I assume when that comes out all the infection that is going to come out at that time is out. I soaked it again for about half hour, squeezed again until infection stopped and the pinkish liquid began to come out instead of infection. I plan to soak at least once more (maybe more) today. After the two soaks, some of the redness due to the infection has also lightened, no swelling has gone down as of yet. I tried to find information about soaking in vinegar with no luck, don't want to soak it too long or often if not recommended. No information found, so I am going to continue to until healed. I will do a follow up in the next day or so wether as it is healed or not. Will also Post any adverse reaction to the soak, if I have any. For reference the date is 2/07/2019

What If the hot water burns? I can’t do dishes in hot water and I have to take lukewarm showers because it hurts so bad. My cuticles get so long and then they start to peel. You can shove your finger inside a cup of water with ICE and leave it in the water for like a minute and a half and it’ll numb it. And then poke it with a needle (you’ll only feel a little bit of pain, but works).

Trust me it works. Only the water should be slightly hotter for you to be able to just dip it for 5 seconds. You can acquaint yourself. But it neutralizes the pain and tenderness.

@@shinichikudo5351 I soaked it in warm water for around 15-20 minutes two to three times a day. I bought a (medical) disposable needle at the drugstore to make sure it's a sterile needle. Then I pricked it. Drained the pus. I applied Povidone-iodine (Betadine) and Mupirocin (Bactroban) and wrapped band-aid around my finger. My finger's fine now.

@@macaronisalad5 Soak it in warm water for 15-20 minutes, 2-3x a day. (You can do this even if it already has a pus, even if it's already throbbing.) Buy little disposable needles at a reputable pharmacy (those little needles specifically used to prick) - make sure it's a reputable pharmacy; needles have to be sterile, don't just use any random needle at home. Prick your finger to drain the pus. Apply Povidone-iodine (Betadine) and Mupirocin (Bactroban), then cover your finger with band-aid. (Pretty sure it can also be treated even without Betadine and Bactroban, but that's what I did.) Hope this helps!
