I have an 1870 Bible signed by Reverend J.H. Enders from The Dutch Reformed Church in Chittenango, NY. This is the area my fathers family is from. Our surname is Becker but my dad said it was Americanized from van der Bakker or something similar. I wish he had written down this history for us.

My father is from the Netherlands the family name comes from boer (farmer) and my mother is native Canadian. He came here in 1968 met & married her in 1970 and they were & are still members of The Netherlands Reformed Congregation. I am a baptized member. Funny thing years ago I married a Dykstra 👍🏻 loved hearing the American history. Would be interesting to learn more about the Canadian side.

They should talk about there history in south Africa even to this day. Would be nice to see the Dutch reform leaders come out and denounce what's still going on.. but that's not going to happen

My dutch surname is not common here in Australia or even in Holland, however quite a number of people have my surname are living in Michigan.

The Reformed Church is the oldest Church in America with a continuous history.

Technically, not, because the spanish arrived before the dutch in modern american territory, so catholic church is more older than reformed church in america.
