I was an eye witness to this family being kicked out of the Port. They were never kicked off the cruise line. They were denied entry to the cruise for health issues and when her doctors note wasn’t enough to by pass policy they erupted like a volcano. First off, her husband thinks it’s okay to curse at women at work because he called the customer service rep doing her best to deal with them a “stupid bitch”. She handled her self with class even after this verbal assault. This, was witnessed by a Port Authority Agent, who then called the Miami Dade Police Department’s MARPOL division in to trespass them off the property for verbally assaulting an employee. They, also, were not made to wait hours. A young Disney employee immediately went to go run and grab the luggage off of the ship because that would have potentially delayed departure. At no point did Disney as a company or any representative of Disney kick them off the cruise or the port. They were trespassed by local law enforcement officials. People were shocked at their behavior around the terminal. They were yelling the second they heard,”I’m sorry policy is policy it is for your safety and your baby’s”. To them all they heard was something that must be foreign to their ears,”No!” And they did not handle themselves like adults. They got worse and worse. The Disney employees handled themselves brilliantly and professionally. I’m not affiliated with Disney either. I’m just a disgusted eye witness to their behavior. And especially disgusted by their use of the media and their KZbin Chanel to manipulate their viewers in this campaign they have to victimize themselves. All to justify the huge waste of money. The worst part, she knew the fine print about how many weeks into pregnancy you aren’t allowed to ride, she knew it well enough to manipulate her doctor into writing her a note to then in turn try and manipulate Disney employees. Please, help me get this out there. This is the truth! I promise. I have evidence to back all this up. Multiple witnesses and video footage from individuals not only in my party but in other shocked guests’ party.

Now for me...It was her responsibility, to read over the cruise information, and since I have cruised with my husband and with my family, let me say, we all read both online and the printed information available. From the 20 year olds to the 70 years olds. Everyone reads about what to wear, what to see, what can the kids do, whats to eat, its DISNEY, plus, she is online all day! Sorry, but I am not buying that she was not aware of this no traveling past the 24 week of pregnancy rule. Most modern doctors know of the restrictions also, mine asked when our group went to the Bahamas if anyone was pregnant. I'm in my 60's now and her late weeks of pregnancy immediately rang a warning bell before I viewed this video. I believe she thought she could they would let just one "bump" go thru lol. Seeing the family’s comments here after watching Don’s video, where he calmly gives his perception of the story is very telling about how they behave under pressure. It’s clear that the video is carefully edited to take out most of the interactions as it would make them look bad. The staff was laughing and smiling because they were relieved they were finally leaving. While it may not be professional, it’s a natural reaction after a high stress situation. They were escorted out by security. Security at a port is armed. They did not point the guns at anyone. They were not threatening to use the guns on anyone. They made the group leave because they were being mouthy, as shown in them making a huge deal out of seeing someone’s SSN (if they were really concerned they could have quietly let staff know, instead of recording it and being rude about it). Also shown by her comment to the police about “using intimidation “. Notice the officer later, without a gun calmly asking them again to wait outside. They were not forced to wait in the heat for two hours. The group could have split up, leaving an adult or two there to get the luggage, while the others went and arranged a hotel. They chose instead to wait in the heat. As for why she had a doctors note... I googled “cruising while pregnant” and immediately the policies of multiple cruise providers came up, stating not only could you not cruise if you would be 24 weeks or more upon trip return, but requiring a doctor’s note as well. Though I obviously can’t say for sure , it is highly unlikely that she didn’t know about the 24 week policy, given that it would be very unusual for someone to be taking a trip and not look up anything about it in the weeks prior. I don’t know where the ship was traveling, but the Zika Virus is still a thing, so I would think she would be doing some research. It will be interesting to see if there is any footage from other cruise goers.

That woman seems to have a very strong sense of entitlement but a quite non-existent sense of responsibility. And apparently neither she nor her husband (and maybe the other family members too) are able to read a contract before signing. She knew that she is in week 25 and she signed the contract. Did she call ahead or email BEFORE she went with her "hive" to the terminal, to confirm that they allow her to board in her 'week 25'? I guess not. But she was smart enough for getting a doctor’s note, right? She expected them to say: "oh well, go ahead...". Good for them, if they make an exception for her they have to make one for the next one in line for something else, just because people think they are "genuinely entitled" to have all rules bent for them... Nowadays having guards with AR-15's hanging around for safety is a good thing, and I need to mention that am not a friend of guns at all. But they are not going to lock their guns up for an illiterate person/or a person who thinks she’s smarter than everybody else. People, do your homework next time BEFORE you try causing trouble for other people. They were making fun of her because SHE and her ‘whateverHive’ were heavily upset, because of “Her Royal Snowflake’s” believe that she is a goddess and no-one can resist her heavily eye-lined blinkers.

How did they know she was 25 weeks pregnant? I wouldn't have told them anything. My parents took my Aunty - my mothers sister on a cruise when she was dying of cancer. She was only 36 and had never traveled. It was her last chance and the biggest thrill of her life. She was in a wheelchair and the crew bent over backwards to make it special for her. They left love notes and chocolates on her pillow. They made sure she was never left out - the Captain invited her to have dinner with him at his table and everyone was so kind. There was a hospital on board if it was needed. She loved every minute of it. Sadly she died a few months later, in our home where we all cared for her.

The old societal model was: A young woman would trade her youth and fertility exclusively to only one man, and he in turn would be the workhorse and take care of her when she gets past her prime. This was a great incentive for men to work, become men, and get married. You got a prize, a young beautiful loyal wife. In theory, as we know life isn't perfect. She does him a favor early on by being a virgin/exclusive and later he does her a favor by staying and supporting her instead of leaving her for a younger woman. They both get a prize. The new societal model is: Women whore around and waste their youth and fertility on Chad/Tyrone, get walled out, get STDs, lose their ability to pair bond, rapidly accelerate their aging process with excessive alcohol and fast food, and have no loyalty to any man. What sensible man would pay top dollar for something 30 other men got for free? The incentive for men is gone. You don't get a prize anymore. You get a parasite with an entitlement mentality that’s looking to take your resources and then some. Before you even say “I do” at the altar, she’s already plotting how to financially rape you in family court when she divorces your sorry ass in a few years. Why do you think she’s smiling as she’s walking down the aisle? You're expected to pay a premium price for a used up, beaten up, soulless woman from the bargain basement bins of some store in the hood with the morals of an alley cat, an in denial, freak of nature, pathologically delusional, self-esteem deficient, morally bankrupt, bottom dwelling, blood sucking, inhuman, creature of the night, bitch on wheels, spawned from the seed of Satan, and a boil on the buttocks of the world. When she dies, the last living reminder of hell will be gone from the face of the earth. She has kids from Chad/Tyrone or both, personal credit card debt, no assets, school debt for a worthless degree in liberal arts or gender studies, no cooking skills and no desire to learn any, no fiscal responsibility, an overly banged vagina, and a pet you’ll be expected to take care of as well. And you're supposed to be happy about this opportunity to lick up the scraps from the floor. The so-called good men she wants and can’t find are out there. They just don’t want her at the table because she has nothing to bring except financial and emotional pain. In addition, she also has great expectations you’ll do everything for her, make her feel better, and provide an unrealistic unsustainable life style she feels she deserves because she read about it some feminazi magazine article that hates men. All this while she cheats behind your back with the “bad boys” she really wants while you’re at work paying all the bills for this little parasite. Yea, that sounds like a good deal, is this the line I stand in to lose half my sh!t? Good luck with that. Men are waking up and realizing this system is defective and toxic. Women's sexual liberation, feminism and the birth control pill, have ironically dis-empowered women. They are throwaway sexual objects now more than ever.

I was told while back by my grandmother who works with babies and she said that woman who are expecting are not allowed on board due to the virus that can and will hurt the unborn baby also that is in the early stages as well. I know they wouldn't allow any pregnant woman on board because of that. Premature babies do happen a lot with health, stress, you name it. So what they should have done was to wait until the baby was born and then they be able to go on the cruise.

The video is massively edited. It does not show the families FULL reaction to being told they cannot sail. I would like to hear from other passengers at the terminal to get the FULL story. Hopefully other passengers statements will come to light over the next few days.
@sburris656 жыл бұрын
As usual, here is the part that was left out. My travel agent had a client on that sailing and this group caused a scene. They were screaming and cursing at employees. Then someone said they were going on that ship no matter what..the security was called. Of course they didn't bother to film that part. And that is port security not Disney. I was a travel agent for 12 years and this was a case of entitlement not a mistake.

Don, you explain things so well. I’m thinking of all the other cruisers that were around watching all this. You are disturbing others too. The way we react is our decision. Truthfully, I’ve reacted negatively on a vacation due to being in the middle of a bad marriage at the time and I never want to do that again! So I understand the family, but it’s not always right. Thanks Don for reporting on things that are not always black and white.

Wow, how interesting. Thanks for sharing. I watched the families video as well and really Disney was doing what they could. Too bad the family decided to be antagonistic afterwards hence why security was called. And being kicked out was because of their actions as well. Id be bummed too if we were not able to go on a cruise, especially when most cruises are booked so far in advance. It's a good lesson to learn from someone else's mistakes. Thanks again for sharing...glad I seen your video first...the families' vid seems to be edited to get sympathy but is also showing them being antagonistic. Not sure if that is true but just my perspective. And good on you for being fair, diplomatic and empathetic. I felt bad at first too, until I watched their vid.

Don you danced around their video in the way I would expect a manager would do. Not that I'm criticizing you, but the mother was vindictive in the making of her video to try to show some kind of wrong doing on the part of Disney employees.

You should always read the fine print in a contract before signing and paying your money. That includes a contract to buy a cruise trip. If you act like a polite adult, the staff anywhere will usually treat you with courtesy even if they cannot meet your expectations. If an adult throws a tantrum like a five year old, security will be called -- it might be a bouncer, it might be the police, it might be store security depending upon where the tantrum occurs. Most of us know that already. Some people have the learn the hard way.

There is a little thing called personal responsibility. 10 people harrasing the staff is a security problem. Trying to intimidate staff to get your way never works. There are 6,000 other cruisers trying to get on, not just them.

Great analysis! I'm a retired US federal agent and worked for an airline for a year after that. Your advice goes for airline travel as well. The reality is you are yelling at the only person who may be able to help at a particular moment. Being nice to an airline employee may be the difference between sleeping in the airport or getting the last first class seat to your destination, they are under no obligation to give it to you. The police in ports these days have a single focus, terrorism; that is why they have big weapons and are ultra vigilant. Not sure why she didn't tell them she was 21 weeks pregnant! Not like anyone lies on the health forms prior to boarding though I do not condone that, they should offer a refund on the spot for someone admitting they are sick. Finally, I am pretty sure the people working in the terminal are contractors that work for whatever cruise line is sailing from that terminal that day.

Beautifully reported Don. Much appreciated. I think that the heat really does get to many pax who are traveling from deep winter cold areas. However, I've long wondered why all ships don't have a specific person to de-escalate problems. It wouldn't cost much, but be worth a fortune. Good on Disney CL, but im also overly tired of overly entitled acting people. DCL is expensive. I fear the entitlements these obviously well off "bloggers" expect in regular life in public at other businesses. But again, some people literally can't take the heat in the dead of winter...

As I said before, read cruise contract!!! Don is right, all major cruise lines have the 24 month pregnancy provision. You are not getting in to a hotel, it’s a ship and if something happens medical attention can be a day or two away (Caribbean cruise).

Sue Lattavo I checked in for my Disney cruise a week ago, the last box that I had to check was that if you or anyone in your party was going to be 24 and more weeks pregnant, you then had to check yes or no. Then it said that if you check yes, you will be denied boarding. She claims that she didn’t know about it, but someone in her family did. At one point she shows someone else’s info and I suspect that is why they were asked to leave the terminal. Her video is heavily edited.
@suelattavo51846 жыл бұрын
The point is, her issue is NOT that they wouldn't allow her to board, but what happened AFTER they told her she couldn't board. The info she pointed out was sitting there completely unattended by Disney staff.
@ASchwa296 жыл бұрын
Sue Lattavo the people that were mostly working there are PORT workers not Disney. The port terminal is like an Airport terminal. Passport and other identifying information of passengers are usually there. She took pictures of that information deliberately to have that person sue Disney because they knew that they couldn’t. Why are you defending her on this?
