Love this conversation. I was on Hospitalised bed rest when I was pregnant for 3 months, though I was/am protestant I had a Catholic priest come in every Sunday to fellowship and pray with me. I sincerely appreciated and changed my perception of the Catholic church. The same thing happened when my son was sick in the hospital. Especially as no one from my denomination came to visit me in my most dark times. These acts have led me to consider converting though I still have a lot of unanswered questions.

I am just a private, SAHM "off the grid no one", but my journey to Catholicism has aligned coincidentally with Tammy and Candace Owens. I prayed for signs that I was on the right path because my family is full of Mormons or atheists. The Peterson family and Candace Owens are people I have always looked up to. When I found out they were on this journey too, I felt confirmation that I was going the right way. I'm encouraged to see that the Catholic church is beginning to attract people back to it because of our cultural chaotic moral system right now. The word of God is beginning to look very appealing now because a lot of people out here are hungry and thirsty for reality. People are growing tired of the fast food of self.
@bliu42663 ай бұрын
I would be concerned that you felt confirmed to join the catholic faith because prominent people you follow also have the same faith.
@Ana_Cecilia6153 ай бұрын
@bliu4266 Why would that be concerning that people you respect align with your worldview?
@bliu42662 ай бұрын
@@Ana_Cecilia615 I respect the catholic faith and hope it serves you well. Your conversion story only left me with some questions, that’s all. I worry myself of becoming too engrossed in an echo chamber of sorts. It can be easy to reinforce our thoughts and decisions when we hear them repeated back by the people we surround ourselves with the most.
@nonprogrediestregredi1711Ай бұрын
@Ana_Cecilia615 Why would that be concerning?? Well, probably because it's feeding your own confirmation bias, and that is fallacious reasoning. You actually stated that you felt confirmation when learning of these people having these beliefs. That opposes holding your beliefs up to scrutiny, which anyone with good critical thinking skills would do. Beyond that, I would argue that you set the bar quite low if you are looking up to the Petersons and Candace Owens.
@Ana_Cecilia615Ай бұрын
@@nonprogrediestregredi1711 That is your opinion of who is to be respected or not. There is nothing wrong with feeling good about the decisions you're making on your own already and feel empowered when people you respect are on the same path. It demonstrates that others have been studying and evaluating similar things as me. This is how anyone finds their community. Aligning yourself with community shows great reasoning skills. I'm not sure who you look up to, but given your sour notes of the Petersons and Candace, I probably wouldn't agree with your choices being inspiring anyway. Good day to you.

I was also a product of a very dysfunctional family where there is so much fighting and yelling where I came to a point I told myself I will never have children. Now as an older person and discovered the value of the Rosary prayer(though I was born a Catholic), every mother should pray the Rosary everyday for their marriage and children. The Rosary prayer brings peace to the woman and when there is peace with the woman/mother there will be peace in the home because the MOTHER is the LIGHT of the home. When I retire that is my goal in life to promote the ROSARY prayer to all women to be able to bring up women who pray the ROSARY everyday for their family because it is the weapon against the devil. It takes patience and perseverance to pray one whole Rosary daily however if you think of the result of praying the Rosary to your family then you have to be patient and persevering. My mother- in -law who prayed the Rosary thru out her life , all her children are so close to each other even at their old age, they do not fight and are so close to each other up to now.

Looking forward to hearing Tammy's incredible strength overcoming cancer. I've been praying for Tammy and her family in my Rosary daily. As well as for your family! I believe we got the Bible, which has the historically reliable documents The Gospels, from the Church, and the Church precedes the New Testament, and through the history of the popes, the Catholic Church can be traced back to Jesus establishing it as His Church, and even before that, when God raised up the people of Israel, that was the community. The Bible was not read in isolation. They would read the Bible with and through the community. And just like as Christians for 2,000 years, we read the Bible with and through the Church, the lens of the interpretation of the Magisterium which is the teaching office of the Church and the motherly role of the Church. And something like praying the Rosary is not something the Magisterium created, it was something people voluntarily started to do, and it eventually put its blessing on it. I believe Jesus is the one mediator, and everything flows through Him. He is the center of all things, and in Him, all things came to be. There is instrumental causality that God loves to use amongst His created universe. The power of intercessory prayer, and the power of the intercession of the saints is about that. Jesus Christ is the mediator, and I believe our Blessed Mother Mary can lead us to Him. She prays for us on our way to Him. When I refer to Mary as my mother, please know I am not taking away respect due to my one and only God, Lord Jesus Christ. I believe loving people Jesus loves helps us love Him more, so the more I love Mary, the more I love God, and Jesus gave Mary to us as our mother on the Cross. John 19: 26-27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. Mother Mary, the first Christian with her choice to say "yes" to my one and only God's will, I believe she is the number 1 model for sainthood for both men and women. She did God's will perfectly in every respect from the moment of her conception, listening to every single one of His commands. Her choice to say "yes" Luke 1:38 Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. to God's will ushered in salvation for the world, and she did so knowing the sacrifices and sufferings that would result from her decision, but, humbly, accepted the privilege of containing the God of the Universe her womb, and then becoming Jesus' most intimate friend, companion, and greatest consolation while on Earth. She was the devil's ultimate humiliation! I believe God is the King of the universe, having all power of the universe, but God chose Our Lady, a humble lowly woman the privilege of crushing the head of the devil. Mary is not God, but she is a saint, and being that she is with Jesus in Heaven, I ask for her intercession to our Lord (and for sake of brevity, I'll say I "pray to Mary"), similar to how I'd ask people to pray for me (please do! I'm a broken sinner in need of many prayers), but I trust she is a saint in Heaven so I believe it is helpful to ask for her help, especially being so close to her Son. There is only one God. He is the source of all good. He is Goodness. He is Love! Hope you and your family had a blessed Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸 yesterday! Made sure to wear red, white, and blue, just like my avatar, including blue on my shoes! Asked for Our Lady of Guadalupe's (considered not only the patroness for the Americas but for the unborn) intercession to our Lord Jesus for help for our country, expecting parents to welcome the priceless gift of their child’s life, and for help with consolation for parents who have lost that gift of their children, and for help to be lead to forgiveness and healing through the Divine Mercy of her Son Our Lord Jesus Christ. "This is our cry: life with dignity for all! For all who have been conceived in their mother’s womb, for street children, for Guadalupe!” -St. John Paul II One of my favorite Bible verses bringing to mind the dignity of life- When Mother Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she went on an about eighty mile joyous journey to visit her cousin Saint Elizabeth (patron saint of expectant mothers and pregnant women) in her hour of need, Elizabeth said referencing her tiny child in her womb John the Baptist who was conceived when she was in old age: Luke 1:41-44 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? God bless you, Lila. Hope you and yours have a light-filled peaceful joyful Happy Fun Freedom Faith-over-Fear Family Friday!

For those who never had a loving mother like me(I had forgiven my mother for not showing me love at this time of my life because I know if I do not forgive her, God will not forgive me), mother Mary is our perfect mother. She is always available to us when we pray to her and you can feel her love. Protestants do not know that Mary will always give way to HER SON, JESUS CHRIST our Lord. She was given the power BY GOD to hear all our prayers because of HER devotion and love to HER son, our Lord Jesus Christ and TO GOD the Father and the HOLY SPIRIT.

I wish Lila was less “team catholic”. The whole conversation seemed to revolve around Lila evaluating how well Tammy was living the catholic faith. Was she baptized properly? Is she too into yoga? When is Jordan going to write his book “how I came to the catholic faith?” How against birth control is Tammy? This is the whole reason Jordan doesn’t prescribe himself to a certain faith, he wants to avoid conversations like this one. Overall I enjoyed hearing Tammy’s experience but I’m afraid Lila got in the way.

I love both of these women which is why I have to say that meditation and giving things to the “universe” is demonic. So is yoga and praying to anyone other than Jesus is an abomination unto God. It is written clearly in His word. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. Mary was and is blessed among women but she is not to be prayed to. That is a sin. A LOT of things said in this episode grieved and troubled my heart as a Christian for their souls. When Tammy described her “healing meditation” it especially jarred me because I used to be into that demonic witchcraft of the New Age as well. While I was in it I was deceived and did not know it to be evil. But that is what the devil does best. He is a liar and a deceiver. He seeks to devour and draw out attention away from the one true God with these fascinating distractions. I pray in earnest for both of their souls. Especially Tammy and Jordan, because I feel Lila understands more about the demonic. Still involved in pagan practices but I believe she is probably heading down the right road towards truth. Just pray for these gorgeous and lovely women to have the scales removed from their eyes. They are precious and I know where they are because I’ve been there. Jesus saved me. I don’t think I deserved it, but He did. He opened my eyes. Read the word and ask Jesus (not Mary or the “Universe” or any other false Gods or dead) but ask God for the truth. It shall set you free and you will be free indeed. Trust me m, I am nobody special, and am far less interesting than these ones, if He can do this for me I know He can do this for anyone. This is said with no hatred or malice. This is a genuine warning from someone who was in such a similar place I BEG you to take this to Jesus in a truly Biblical manner. With love and prayers, I say these things, not at all to sound nasty “Judgy”. It’s with love and discernment and extreme caution. Go to the Word. Go to Jesus. ✝️
@sabinaberariu34784 ай бұрын
@@countchocula5379 you're right about the meditation being demonic, in the sense it's not our imagination who has the power to heal us, it's God if He decides to bless us in that way. But Virgin Mary has a most special place in our faith as Christians because she is the one who has been chosen by God to carry in her womb the infinite. She was also the one to speed up Christ's missionary work on earth at the wedding. It was at her command that Christ performed the miracle of transforming the water into the finest wine. Mother Mary is the one who mediates often between us and God and that's why she is to be prayed to.
@kagisomokoena2094 ай бұрын
I felt the same way. I grieved towards the end of this episode when Lila said Mary is the one who lead Tammy to her son, that was painful to hear especially since Jesus said in John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day". The Father and not Mary draws to Christ. And I don't know much about the Catholic church but what they said about the church coming together in the end at Rome is absolutely unbiblical. In Revelation we're told that Jesus will come and there'll be a new Jerusalem and the new city. The whole thing with Mary is just an insertion but Mary is not to be venerated at all. Non of the Apostles ever mention anything about Mary and in Romans the Bible tells us that Jesus is our intercessor and also in Hebrews that He's our mediator.
@balipsette4 ай бұрын

In Acts, St Paul explains to the greeks that the altar they have erected to the “unknown god” was the biblical God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Can you see that the LORD may have been drawing Tammy even inspite of her misguided pursuits? As for Mary, I am Catholic and I have struggled with the churches marian teaching for years. But now by the grace of GOD it becomes more clear. When Andrew encountered CHRIST, he first finds his brother Simon and says to him, "We have found the Messiah" and brings him to CHRIST. This is what Mary does for us. I encourage/challenge you to read all the gospel passages related to Mary prayerfully. She is HIS mother, because she did as HE said ("hear the Word of GOD and obey it") and is our mother because HE said; "son this is your mother" . I will say a prayer for you ❤

Apostolic succession is false. The first pope was about 1200 ad. The ongoing, ignored h0m0sexuality in the priesthood is a problem. Icons, altars, and praying to saints also problems.

The Catholic faith is the false faith 😢

If Catholicism is false, then so is Christianity because prodestantism came out of catholicism after the 1500s. You can't take a false religion and make it a real one.

@@Catholiclady3 of course you can. It’s called reformation. Catholic faith is false in that they have wrong teachings .
