In periphery yes you can work as family medicine physician and sometimes equal to gen med doctor. But it actually depends on the vacancy and availability.

U can practise as much as u want but then the catch comes in certain procedures like endoscopy, stent placement etc. That u can’t do as you haven’t learnt itZ. So maybe if u do some fellowships and learn these too then u r equally good as a gen med
