Family members remain hopeful despite uncertainty after 3-year-old boy swept down creek

A 3-year-old boy's condition remains uncertain five days after he was swept a mile down a creek in Beaver County.
Despite the uncertainty, his family is holding onto hope after Levi Wright opened his eyes and lifted his head.
"We got a call from his parents on FaceTime saying that he had opened his eyes," said Mindy Clark, a close family friend.

There still is hope for your son. Don't give up , no matter what the doctors say. But be realistic. We adopted our oldest son at not quite two. He was a victim of child abuse at around 6 weeks old with a skull fracture. They thought he would die. When they saw he wasn't going to, they told them to pray for him to die! Because he was going to be a vegetable. 😢 That was 45 years ago ! He is far from a vegetable! He can read, ride a bike , he holds down a job and sometimes 2! He's on a regular bowling league but a easy going one. He use to be able to hold his own in basketball with others of "normal" ability. He lives on his own about 1 1/5 hours from us. He does have cerebral palsy and it affects his left side. He has a hard time writing and setting bounders. And he can't handle money worth beans but he gets by with help and support. We love him and are so proud of him. He is a miracle! Young brains are so dynamic! There's so much the doctors don't know in this day and age. Be with your son and talk to him, sing to him, let him have his favorite toy and touch him! I hope this will encourage you and all the people who love him! There is always hope!

I also took care of a man who was free diving had a brain injury in his early 20’s. He has been laying in a bed over 30 years with a feeding tube, none responsive. His quality of life is zero. Modern medicine at its worst!!

Good luck to the boys family. Sad I would have a broken heart if he was mine. Luckily when I pulled my son 4-5 yrs old out of his boots while he was in the river it was low tide . his friend younger just watching him. Check where they know they aren't allowed first thought..quick reaction is important. He wasn't suppose to be outside hut his friend came by and without my permission he went outside.'. Going in two directions is not always easy. I have two also.

It wasn’t out of control. He tried to drive across the wash as he had been in vehicles with his family and that’s the way they drive to the neighboring land. Usually the water is low and they drive across it. But yes motorized vehicles are dangerous.

talk to him as much as possible. tell him about your day. talk to him about the baby & other loved ones who are close to him. play his favorite song. talk about his favorite foods. use whatever you can think of to stimulate his awareness & point the way on his journey back to you. if you are praying people, pray next to him and out loud.

People that suffer brain injuries can live very long lives with the right care its not always a death sentence, regardless of how valuable you feel that life is, that is someone’s little boy and they have the right to fight for him however they feel is right.
