Sawubona Thando! That’s another really good lesson. I’m glad you pointed out the correct form of who Malume is, in tv shows it’s always used just as uncle so I thought it was just that. I didn’t know it only referred to the mother’s family. I’ve also heard ubhuti to mean brother in tv shows, is that another term or is it slang? Ngiyabonga.

ubhuti is borrowed from Afrikaans, boet. We don't have one that works like that. Brother is umfowethu (that's my brother) but, any other bro that isn't necessarily mine, yours, theirs and ours is Umfo. And that is such an uncommon word. You don't quite hear people use it. In a form of slang, people say 'bafo' and they use that a whole lot. But that is really guys using that to other guys.
