The weather is very different there. We get lightening like that in SE TN during tornado season but that's about it. Some summer pop ups but the the lightening usually isn't as intense during the summer. During spring you can feel the energy. Sometimes it'll make your body hair stand up.

@boohere2 Sometimes you don’t know it’s coming. I run and literally yesterday morning it started storming as I was ending my run. The news predicted light rain in the afternoon, I was running at 5:30 in the morning. While running I looked at the sky and had a feeling I shouldn’t go far which is the only reason I made it back to my car before the storm hit. This young man losing his life was just a tragic accident. Praying for the family.

Who decides to go for a run during an electrical storm? It's possible that the storm hit while he was running and he was headed back or for cover. Unless it can be proven that it was already storming when he went for a run, it's best not to assume anything and pass judgement. We don't know what time he went for a run. How long he was running when the storm hit. If he was trying to head back. We don't know any details.

I remember when I was a kid, my phys Ed teacher was struck by lighting while walking to her car, leaving school. She survived, but her face was always red it messed up her nerves florida lighting ain't no joke. Our house was struck by lighting twice.

@@Christina-sf4py That theory has long been debunked. The electric field strength involved in a lightning strike is large enough for air itself to become a conductor. If air itself is already a conductor, then there is nothing special about metals. But lightning IS much more likely to strike tall objects to minimize its path. The moment I saw the picture of the terrain, I wasn't at all surprised that he was struck. No trees or any tall objects anywhere combined with the fact that he is very tall. The probability of him being struck was basically maximized

If someone checks the weather frequently they will know if a possible lightning storm is coming. I jog and I have been in some lightning storm jogs. Luckily I wasn't hit by lightning but I end up running either fast because I'm paranoid or sometimes I hide underneath something like at our local park we have a little house thing. I don't know the term for it but it's shaped similar to a boxing ring and has a roof on top of it. That protects from lightning I would think but I have seen holes in it so maybe lightning has struck through that? I sometimes would shadow box and even hit some of the pillars in it for training in combat.

Folks need to look at he radar in weather apps to see if there is any severe weather in the area before doing outdoor activities. If the sky looks purple it's a good indicator there is electricity in the atmosphere and lightning. Even if the clouds appear distant the lightning branches in all directions. Last year I was at a park sitting in my car and suddenly out of what seemed like nowhere it sounded like a bomb went off over me, the tree at been struck by lightning and prices of the tree limbs were falling down. I am fortunate because my car took the surge and the hitch wiring fried. I am so glad I was in the car otherwise had I been outside next to the car I may not be here to write this.

Lightening is not a joke... I got caught in a sudden thunderstorm in NJ walking... immediately i crossed the street to get shelter under a building away from the trees.. I stood there until the thunderstorm passed 10-15 minutes 😢😮 RIP Young lad 🎉😢😮

That other person is so negative. While 19 is young to have a baby in most instances, in this one it was a blessing considering what happened. Now the grandparents at least have a piece of their son still living on in his child. The gf seems like a good person and like one who would definitely stay in touch with his family as after all they are the baby's grandparents/aunts/uncles and I am sure that side of the family would be more than willing to help raise and be involved with the childs' life... especially since the child in their lost sons'

My grandfathers property had lots of buried metal from previous generations. Lighting struck the ground there many times. I remember one place where multiple strikes happened that grass never grew back. Makes me wonder about this being a landfill with all the buried metal. I know they say metal doesn't draw lightning but my grandpa's property seems to suggest otherwise. Sad story. Prayers for his family.

What awful news. My heart goes out to the family, his girlfriend and his girlfriend‘s family. Death brings such an anger force with it that you don’t recognize who you are anymore being so angry at the death of your loved one. I remember going downstairs and throwing old books and believe it or not. I felt better. And then when my dog suddenly passed away in November/23 that was a hard one and I just started throwing things around my bedroom. They said I screamed on and off for three days, I was in such shock.

This is the second video I’ve seen about someone being struck by lightning. Lord have mercy. I pray for his family ❤🙏🏾. This is so hurtful. 19 is so young. Life is not promised to any of us. Everyone please pray and seek Jesus. Get to know him. ❤ God loves you all.

I feel for this poor family and their loss but I hope this isn't their preamble into attempting to sue someone for a weather phenomenon. As one commenter said: Where there’s thunder there’s lightning. When you hear thunder go inside. Thunder is your warning.

I sympathize with his girlfriend with the baby. I raised two daughters alone after their dad was killed in a car accident…he was only 23 years old and I was pregnant with my youngest. Praying for her it’s hard to raise a child without their dad. She’ll need her community. 🤔🙏🏽❤️‍🩹
