I know we all parent differently, but your sweet baby girl Rylee is going to continue pushing boundaries to see what she can and cannot do. I think it may help if before meals you get down to her level and tell her your expectations for meal times(no getting up, eat her food, etc) then explain the consequences if she doesn't listen(1st time getting up is a warning and 2nd time is time out) the more consistent you are with her, the better she'll listen and sit at the table for the entire meal. You can use the same method with bedtime. If she goes potty before bed, she likely will not have to go again. It's just a ploy to get out of bed. 1 bedtime story, 1 song, and 5 minutes of cuddling seems efficient for a bedtime routine. I learned that the longer I stayed in my toddlers room and communicated/played with her, the longer it took for her to go down. I'd end up spending over 30 minutes in her room. I decided to read one book, while giving cuddles, give her the stuffed animals she sleeps with, give her a kiss and tell her goodnight and all within 15 minutes. She too would do the I have to go potty, I'm thirsty, I'm this and I'm that, but I didn't give into it anymore. I love that you and your husband split the evening routine. Makes it a lot easier.

Just like Riley My 3.5 year old has a very religious night time routine that requires consistent follow thru. If I divert from the routine or skip a step it’s TANTRUM TOWN which is never fun. So I already know a final potty break is alllllways done after our prayer and it’s just crazy how particular toddlers are man. It’s bath, teeth, prayers, pee, water, bed with the same projector light also has to be a certain color and oh dear Lord just GO THE F TO SLEEP 😂

I have a 3 year old and 1 year old. My 3 year old is the same way at bed. Always finds a way to prolong bedtime. We also moved the potty in the bedroom which has helped, but it's still long. Must be a toddler thing.

My daughter used to do that with the hall light. One night she did something to get in trouble and we turned it off. It turned into a terrible tantrum but in the end, we never had to turn that light on again. She does still have her night light in her room so she’s not completely in the dark
