Seeing how professional violinists normally spend 6 figures or more on their instrument this doesn’t really shock me and it is so worth it when you find the one. Also, a good bow is just as important as a good violin! This video is really wholesome.

My father was the dean of the Juilliard school for a while, retired not too long ago. Cool to see families like this still exist. I played cello for a while but decided instruments weren't my thing. Don’t mind the bad comments, I don’t know why people can’t just appreciate the fact that you guys invest money in your kids musical education and even find ways to teach them the value of it, letting them go after their dreams.. this is priceless! God bless you all, keep positive, cause it’s really working out fine!💖 Hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷

As beautiful as I think it is to see a family that plays together and support each other, I find it hard to believe that all 10 children are equally as passionate about STRING instruments (and just 2 specific ones for that matter) without it being caused by some sort of influence. I am not talking necessarily about oppressive or negative influence. If a child grows up with all their older siblings playing an instrument and the parents wanting them to play too of course the child is going to want to join in, but is that really it’s true calling or could that child maybe have excelled in other fields if he was given the chance to try them. I’m saying this because your younger baby literally already has a cello. I don’t see how that’s not influencing early on the child’s choices. 😊

This could be a really lengthy argument. Why are there law firms full of generations of lawyers? Why are there generations of great football players from the same family (Mannings). LOL. I could have never been a Venus or Serena Williams but my parents never gave me tennis lessions either. Nor did I have lessons in anything for that matter. Are all 11 going to be professional violinists? No. It's like thinking if you had enrolled your kid in gymnastics instead of dance could they have been an Olympian but there are only so many hours in one day. With all that being said, I think it is commendable the parents have exposed them all to music and they look like they are having fun so what is the harm?

Lots of kids and teens will not care or remember how much their instrument cost. Maybe sometimes that's better than always worrying of damaging or losing that valuable instrument. Woah🤯! Something isn't adding up here. There's just no way the raw materials and craftmanship should be worth that much, I mean I'm sure these are handcrafted instead of manufactured or printed so that adds a lot to the cost, but even so there's plenty of far more complicated devices worth less than 1/20 of some of these... I can only imagine the supply is low due to limited manufacturing due to a not so high demand, so that drives up price, and musicians being willing to pay more obviously, but even that shouldn't explain it. I just think that the instrument manufacturing scene is way outdated, I'm sure there's synthetic materials and better designs that can do just as good as any type of wood or hair, maybe applying some robotics to the manufacturing as well, since they are usually more precise, faster or consistent than people.

2 things: why is the bow more expensive than the instrument in a couple of these cases?! Also, why did you buy super expensive instruments for some of the kids, and others much cheaper instruments? (Not a criticism; I’m genuinely curious)
@Lily_and_River Жыл бұрын
I think it was only one of them which had a cheaper instrument than bow. The subtitle said it is because it used to be her mom's instrument. I am pretty impressed by the fact that they chose to invest so much in the bows, not everyone does that but the bows are super important. I imagine they are constantly saving up for better instruments. Usually the older and more experienced you get the more you invest in it. Also the younger kids aren't at a full size yet so they have to size up their instruments aswell over time. You can see that the instruments get more expensive when they're older which is only logical. A beginner student doesn't need a very expensive instrument although it should be good enough to be able to progress.
