it warms my heart that you consider your children's food aversions and preferences... i grew up in an abussive household that didn’t tolerate mine and my siblings autism very well. its refreshing to see a mom just get their childs safe food instead of scolding and yelling at them.. like my parents would do (,: it makes me emotional. you're an amazing mom

Growing up my parents decided what I ate. Sure there was some meals that I did not like, but it was what it was. And that expanded my palate. Today we are too touchy feely about kids preferences and we do not need to cater to all likes, unless it is a food intolerance.
@jordanmolinaro8414
@jordanmolinaro8414 2 жыл бұрын
@@vonlipi just because you didn’t have something in your childhood doesn’t mean others shouldn’t have it either. And so many parents teach and raise their kids so differently, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s not harming a child? They may not have an “extended pallet” but not everyone needs to be the same, yea??? And for people with mental disorders it’s not as easy as “eating it anyway”. if you pay attention it’s actually explained many of her kids have these food preferences because they have autism and other mental problems. Even if it wasn’t because of mental disorder, so what!! I don’t see why having certain food preferences is such a crime. Times change, and some people have the privilege and right to cater to their likes. even if they didn’t there’s nothing wrong with others not living how you used to “back in the day”.

I used to teach and I’d say to children ‘is anyone hurt, dying or dead, is the ceiling of the classroom going to fall in, or is the sky going to drop on our heads?’ Meaning physically, emotionally or mentally when things went wrong. If not…relax! It can’t be that big of a problem. I remember being a child and being terrified if I was such a horrendous child because I did things such as …use a ‘wrong’ colour pen, made the margin of my book wonky, didn’t use a ruler & pencil to cross out a wrong word, put brackets around it blah, blah…loads of different ways because each subject and teacher had their own way. Or writing the short date as in for Maths in a French book for example. As a child I was extremely nervous, so when I began teaching I thought about it and decided why cares 🤷🏼‍♀️ So what if a child missed a page in their book, ruled a line with a pen, wrote their geography work in a maths book…it’s completely ridiculous. Why petrify children? No one can learn effectively if they’re scared. People can’t be happy if they have that much stress in their life. Who is going to take a risk, be brave or push themselves if they are too scared to? How would we have found tests for a thyroid test, baking powder makes cakes rise, internet….🤷🏼‍♀️ People might assume I ran a classroom like a zoo, but nope, I was strict where it mattered. A supposed boss couldn’t stand it because I could control full school of 375 without needing to say a work, no anger, shouting, threats etc, or that I could do playtime on my own and didn’t need to use a bell or anything else to get them into quiet, straight lines to go back into school. Then take the youngest children in first, then the other classes followed until the 11 year olds would lock the door behind them. No fuss, no stress, just lines of children leading themselves to their class. As a child I had some undiagnosed issues, Aspergers, EDS, dyscalculia, dysautonomia, POTS…. I would get sooo stressed, exhausted, fatigued and stressed that I’d know there was no way I could go to school the next day. Nor should children not want to go to school because they feared a teacher or one of the biggest stress in my life…a teacher who had her favourites and no one else mattered. A classmate would copy my work and another friend’s we’d get 2/10 she’d get 9/10 😤🤷🏼‍♀️. What child will keep up their self esteem and effort, not fear going to a class when their book is thrown at them and treated like crap. So, I can see how chilled she is, it’s so important to stay relaxed. I see channels about families and they aren’t that, it’s fake too, their children look miserable or anxious. Take the family who ‘rehomed’ 😤 their child with autism!

It is great way to meal plan......and when you decide what toget for each meal or dishyou want to make...you can keep track as you go how much things cost. So you can plan exactly what it willcost.....of course remember food prices are ever changing right now....so leave room for prices going up. So you wont go over your balance.... Use coupons. And check for sales in a couple of different stores. I generally shop in 3 or 4 different places and go to them to check for sales...it helps if the regular things you get ....you can catch a sale and get a few items at that place if you can...

What a beautiful and well stocked store Wegeman's is! I'm in Northern California and our biggest chain is Safeway. We don't have but 1/4th of what your store carries. I can see why you live that store! I'm an old grocery clerk, and I heard you say something about touching the kiwis and produce. You most certainly can and should. Don't worry about it, everyone should wash their produce anyway. Besides, you're much cleaner than some. I love how you remember what each child prefers. They are very fortunate and loved. Also l think it / s amazing how much you think about each individual kid . As 1 of 1 0 kids myself l know it can be hard to share the attention and make sure everyone gets things they like .

I believe Montreal smoked meat is brisket. Brisket is salted & cured with spices for a week. It is then hot smoked & steamed. The end result is a corned beef/pastrami type meat. Typically it's served on rye bread with yellow mustard. Hope that helps 😃

I’m the youngest of 11 kids. I would have loved if my parent shopped like you! We had a huge garden and my mom canned all our veggies. They would buy 1/2 a cow and 1/2 a pig. We hunted deer and rabbit if we wanted other meats. My mom baked all of our breads and even made crackers. I don’t remember any snack foods really. Chips and dip every once in a while we’re a treat and once a year my dad would stop at a local candy plant and buy seconds that couldn’t be sent out to the stores. Now I shop more like you but on a smaller scale with only 2 nearly grow kiddos. I love watching your hauls.

These videos captivate me for some reason, personal shopping is my profession so it's cool to hear the reasons why you need each item, because I often like to imagine what my customers need the items for or why their list may have odd specifications like your chocolate chips for your daughters classroom and one for your recipe. In my head I would wonder why not just buy 3 small bags or two big ones, but there is a reason for everything and it's interesting to kind of see inside the mind of a shopping list in these videos! ✨

@@nancyfarkas3592 this isn't a criticism at ALL as I think adopting from foster is an incredible gift, but parents who adopt from foster continue to receive food assistance until the child is 18, or sometimes for life if the adopted child has disabilities. Wow, your such an amazing person and really do care for your kids. But I noticed that there was just so much processed foods and sugar. And while the kids may not like it it’s important that your teaching healthy eating. There’s totally nothing wrong with having a daily snack, but moderation is key. I know my mom just loved me so much that she wanted to feed me anything I wanted, but now I struggle with a food addiction and have high cholesterol. I only counted 3 fresh veg and 5 fresh fruits you purchased, even though our diets should consist of 50%. If your kids are picky with fresh, healthy foods there are tons of great ways that you can hide, and disguise them with food that you would normally eat.

It actually helps when buying large quantities of groceries. I'm sure she and Josh are members. Members receive cooking magazines in the mail each month with coupons as well. Also, Wegmans offers different kinds of deals. Like 3 for $10 coke products. Usually there's a sign advertising various deals in each isle.
