You are not living you are just existing living in that mess. You are what your taught at a young age, if your brought up lazy you are not going to become energetic from a teenager on. This is the very reason young couples have lovely homes everything push button they can’t even push the button to do the laundry, if when they get it done it stays in the dryer all wrinkled up forgotten until the next load of laundry is done, then it has to be taken out to make room for a new load. It is then taken in the parents room thrown on the floor picked up used as needed all wrinkled up. The dirty laundry is mixed in with the clean on the floor they don’t know what’s clean what’s dirty. Unbelievable yet true.

It is very important to involve the children in the washing and clearing up. If parents teach their children that helping with putting away their own items and putting away their washing is expected of them, they will do it. Also, older kids can help with dish washing and putting away of those dishes. All human beings need to learn as soon as possible how to take care of themselves. Mom and Dad shouldn’t do everything!

I have a feeling that everyone has too many clothes. With growing children, new clothes get purchased because they keep growing. But what happens with the clothes they no longer fit??? I think they really need to do a massive clothes declutter. That would make washing clothes and then putting them away… so much easier. Some clothes can possibly be used by the younger kids, but a clothes declutter is really needed.

Excess clothes laying all over everything indicates that the Laundry isn't being done on time & when one child outgrown something it's laundered & then handed down to the next youngest. If this item won't work for that child, or is torn/wore out throw it away right then. If it can be donated to a Charity Shop then put some kind of a tag/pin on them, wash them & put into a give away box & drop it off regularly to the Donation Center. You have to stay on it all the time. There's also nothing wrong with assigning each child with chores to do. It's a sense of responsibility & children need to be taught how to do their job at Home which prepares them for a better paying job when they grow up. Once a week Allowance or the point system for completed jobs is a good incentive.

Too much of everything with my experience. This overwhelmed mom and dad would most likely benefit with 3/4 of their clothing and belongings gone. Lovely family. They deserve to feel peace when they are in their home. Cleaning and organizing are great. But I don’t believe it is a disorganized problem. It is a too much stuff problem. I wish them the best.

@@rebeccabaron1348 I agree , I have found that is the case with dishes . If you only have just enough dishes to cover one day you are forced into keeping up the dishes . It also opens up space in the cabinets so that it is easy to put dishes away.

My husband & I raised 2 boys. We've always been meticulous about Cleanliness, a Well Organized & Well Decorated Home. We had a rule that when they were done playing with something it was taken by THEM & put away. If they left toys or other things on the Floors after bedtime, we threatened we'd throw them away. Generally the threat worked but on Rare Occasions they'd forget to pick up something so my Husband was ready with something to throw away & showed he was making good on the Threat by acting like he picked up a toy or sock they'd left on the floor & loudly announced "Ok, I've found stuff left on the Living Room Floor that's going into the Garbage" he'd then throw the items away. You never saw two boys scamper so fast to pick up the things they'd actually left laying around & run to put them away. Lol They are 56 & 48 today, with kids of their own & both made it thru years in the Army & Households in several States & other Countries, they have been able to live well in homes that were kid friendly but clean & free of stumbling over Toys or clothes littered on the floor. 😅

It looks like the parents are gone so much the kids are left on their own. The kids likely resent their parents being gone a lot. And of course kids aren’t likely to do much if they aren’t made to do it. It’s not likely to change unless everyone pitches in and rules are made and kept.

Nope, not when mom is a nurse and dad is an electrician. One job means the knowledge and understanding of systems, the need for clean and safe. The other job means if his work causes him to make a mistake because of clutter or carelessness, he's in a cemetery. One zap and bye bye dad. Mom, one wayward needle and she's on life support (I AM an A&E nurse and I have seen it happen). These parents are lazy, and while not stupid, I think they are ignorant. They are raising another generation of homeless people who cannot live in a clean environment so they will trash any place they do live. That means eviction. These parents simply don't want to invest the time and energy in keeping their home clean. Those kids should be removed and fostered and parents should be put on mandatory supervision with standards to meet until they prove they can provide and maintain a safe home for 6 kids. It's disgusting. The nurse should have her license suspended until she completes mandatory parenting classes. If I were her patient I would run far away. She reminds me of "Typhoid Mary" a vagrant woman in 1800's who infected hundreds because of her own infection of typhus and her employment as a whore.

@@worldsworstneighbours I believe they will now. Working parents with six children -- it doesn't take long for the mess to become overwhelming. When you say "take steps to prevent it" you assume that we all enter parenthood with the same skills and boundaries. These parents may be gifted in raising their children. They just lost their way. Chaos superceded everything. I will add -- I have relatives who were taught housekeeping from an early age. They didn't resent it and the habits are instilled in them. My parents worked away from home and I figured out a lot on my own. Some kids wouldn't have.

The state of the house is often a sign of the state of the marriage. But unfortunately nowadays both have to work a lot to pay for the house and the children.

Who tf raised you ? If Mom can’t work outside the home AND take care of the kids and house? Mom gets 50% and so does Dad. Dad is just as smart and capable of Mom. Dads who do nothing with their kids or home need to reevaluate themselves. All it is showing is that Dad Is not capable of making enough money for his family while all the while he’s make poor financial choices so his wife needs to work outside the home. It also shows Dad is not smart enough to find solutions and hire a cleaner. It is truly It is MUCH easier to be a single parent and not have to take care of a useless Partner.
