My first question is, what kind of a church hires a pastor with that kind of criminal record!?!...I'm so sorry that this happened. My daughter was brutally murdered by her boyfriend 25 years ago in NC. Even though there was overwhelming evidence of foul play, the ME wrote it off as an accident. I spent 15 years trying to get her case opened back up. Due to police misconduct, it will never be opened back up. Her murderer got away with it. No charges. This has happened in many other cases as well. If this had to happen to Mica, I wish it hadn't been in NC. I wish it had been in another state. Praying for the family and justice for Mica.

I almost married this man.. but like Mica, I looked for help, broke it off and did a lot of reading and self work. I AM now thriving, on the right meds and right diagnosis. It pains me to know and learn about this case because it hits SO close to home. not a lot of people (specially women) have the energy or resources to get out of that situation. Her voice on the 911 call sounding so directionless and out-of-focus compounds the possibility of this phone call being made under duress. That county where she was found is notorious for police corruption and murder cover-up. So, why on earth, like her father said, would she travel to this state park. You know who frequented state parks-her husband! It's like someone knew that county was corrupt! Plus, like her dad says here, they couldn't believe why the police did or didn't do certain protocols in handling Mica's case. Combine that with Mica telling her sister to not believe she killed herself and she was afraid JPM would. He tracked her car, abused her, she knew of mishandling of church money...She knew too much and he was losing his control over her-who he groomed since she was 14 and he was 28 and married.
