Alex doesn't get it. Jennifer is almost a preteen and she is almost about to hit or is hitting puberty, and she has to compete with her sister Mallory to make boys get attracted to her, so she can go out on dates. So she needs to soften her image and not be so "tomboy-ish" and cut down on playing softball, soccer, tennis etc.. things that she once liked to do and focus more on the femanine side to soften her image and like wearing dresses, make up and jewelry. This is something totally new for Jennifer. so she has to work at it. Mallory was always like this as she was not a sports person, she was always into fashion, clothes, make up etc.. So it was always easy for her. Alex needs to understand this about his sisters
