Listening to this, I immediately thought liver problems. I suffered similar medical issues and was faced with liver failure. I received a transplant almost 3 years ago and I am so grateful.

What an incredible story. Heartbreaking in some places but hopeful in others. Our medical techniques are improving every day with the research that scientists and doctors do.

I’ve never used the word “tapping” or even heard of it. The procedure is a thoracentesis. And I was wondering. Did they ever do a work-up for the syncopated episode he suffered at the top of the stairs including a cardiac echo since he had a known murmur). Thanks for these great stories!
@farahcuenca63464 ай бұрын
I have this same condition, minus the murmer. Refractory, idiopathic (🙄). After 7 thoracentesis appointments I told the doctor I was concerned about scar tissue buildup and asked for self draining catheters. I did that for a few months until one of the catheters wrapped around my pericardium. Then I eventually had pleurodesis, which has now led to other problems as the chyle fluid is building up in my tissue😭 it’s been about 5 years since this all started.

Too much scar tissue to drain him? That doesn’t make any sense. They could easily take him into surgery and cut through that scar tissue. I have immense amount of scar tissue throughout my body. And you can push through it. The doctors gave up on him.
