FAMILY TREE + NEW CHARACTER INTRIGUE OPTIONS - Total War: Rome 2 Gamep
Massive changes coming to Total War Rome 2 as the new patch gets ready to deploy. The Family tree is back with a ton of new features. One of them features being the addition of 24 new intrigue options allowing character interaction much more enjoyable.

To take part in the Ancestral Update open beta, follow these steps:
Restart Steam
Find Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition in your Steam library
Right click Total War: ROME II - Emperor Edition and go to Properties in the drop-down menu
Go to the Betas tab
In the drop-down menu under Select the beta you would like to opt into: select Ancestral

I missed the Beta Opt in... I reloaded my Steam version of Rome II Emperors Edition but I am not seeing any Ancestral stuff at all. Is there something else I need to do? I looked at the properties in my game library and no Opt in for Ancestral. Have not seen any notifications from the Total War people of any patches updates that include this. Been away from the game for a year.. am I missing something.

Does this mean we will also get "birth" events in your family? While adoption is still available, the family line can't continue if blood related heirs are not produced.

Benjin It's yet to be confirmed, just because a guy found out the files doesn't mean that is going to be the DLC about. By that logic AoE2HD should have had it's 4th DLC years ago.

Amazing. Only bad thing is the price of the game during sales reflect this. The game was going for 39.99 during the Steam sale which is insane. I bought this in 2015 on sale for 19.99

With the marriage mechanic, what happens when arranging a marriage between 2 different factions? Anything? I know this can only happen with factions led by a woman. But I hope it would make some type of impact on the campaign.

Even if they gave us family trees and more traits and stuff for generals ALL OF THIS SHIT DOES NOT MATTER, there is no 12TPY in the game or at least 6TPY which means your generals will die as fast as they get recruited

I just got into the game. I heard bad things about it years ago and was disappointed. Playing it for the first time and I'm really impressed. I picked it up for $15! Already put 30 hours on it in the last week 😅 The last TW game I played deeply was Empire and Medieval 2. Really hoping for a Medieval 3 or Empire 2. Medieval 3 could particularly be phenomenal.
