Margaret, I haven’t worked as a nurse since 2006 when I had major back surgery. (71 now. )Last September I renewed my license yet again. It forces me to get 15 credits. So I keep learning. It keeps me engaged. I reworked my resume. There are remote jobs. It’s a good exercise in any event. I have lots interests. Working on my next act now that my grandchildren are older and we see them less. I miss taking care of them, but this is the way it has to be.

I retired 11 years ago from my critical care nursing career. I renewed my license the first time it came due, though I I had no intention of working again. But, like you , I felt it was part of my identity and wasn't ready to let it go. But 2 years later when the license came due, I was able to let it go. And I was able to say, "I used to be a nurse." I'll tell you one thing about that list you read from. I never feel invisible. I was a force to be reckoned with when I was in my 30's and I can be a force to be reckoned with now!

I’m cooking for Christmas I thought maybe someone else would take it over as I’m 82 and little bet tired of doing but I won’t ever tell them. I know I should open my mouth but oh well. Have also been doing something with my daughter and my grandson from son just bought his first house and I’m so proud of him as he is only 27. But it will closer to his work. I never jumped over here so fast😂😂 I will comment after I watch, my friend❤ thank you so much for sharing. My grandchildren are all adults. My first granddaughter is 26 and her name is Emily Faith named after me😊 it is such a blessing. She sits right next to me at church every week. She has the same Bible that I had given her and that I wrote inside. I mark my Bible up all the time at church when I’m listening to a sermon and she’s starting to do the same thing 😊It’s wonderful to share our belief in the Lord Jesus together; we have a common bond ❤my daughter, her mom and my son-in-law are members also ..it’s just a tight knit bond her and I’ve had since she was born. I have 11 more grandchildren all grown, and we are all very close, but Emily and I just different, like you and squish.❤❤ I do not find myself being treated different. I am 74 and my family although they care about me very much do not patronize me and my Church family are the same. They treat me with dignity and respect, but I also treat them the same way. It’s so nice seeing you, my friend. Have a blessed week and stay safe. God bless.

Re: potty training I will say girls generally train much, much, quicker than boys but don’t rush it, it’s a process. Usually one starts it at 2 years old. My son took forever but he was the firstborn and I was way too regimented with weaning from the bottle, potty training, etc. He told me!! 😂 Anyhoo, I put off training with my daughter for fear of it happening again but she ended up training between Christmas and New Years!! She had turned 2 in the summer. I was super happy with that outcome! 🤗 I prefer B for the bed covering.

I'm totally at the junction in my life(60 plus )where I say n do what makes me happy n still be nice and respectful to others. Good to hear from you! I have no preference for the bedspread and nothing else relates. It's been a bit chilly here in the South. Good sleeping weather for me. Rain is on the way, they say. If it comes, I will love it! I may have been a cave dweller in another life. I may have been a lot of things in other lives, but let's keep it PG 13. I don't really need or want anything - but I did splurge and get a Cuisinart food processor and a new microwave that's smaller. I can't explain that because I don't use a microwave for anything. It stays clean that way. I also got a smaller air-fryer. Haven't used any of it yet, so Merry Christmas to me! Best Christmas ever! Oh well, I've been making granny square ponchos from the 60s. Hippy time! Making one and fringing one. I ran out of yarn for the fringe and had to order more, so I started another one. I'm going to make a lot in different colors and by spring I'll have a bunch! It keeps me off the streets! It's interesting that you miss cutting hair. I don't think I miss anything except potato chips! I have some! Margaret, I love your spirit. At age 71, I am also thankful for the little things, like a warm, soft washcloth on my face and a nice hot bath or shower. I pick A ......Just on a hair cutting note. I'm a X hair dresser.....like 50 years ago...lol. I continued to cut my three kids and hubbys hair. I can and have cut my own, but have problems cutting the back myself. Do you have any tricks for managing the cutting of the hair around the nape area? I have used masking tape as a guide line ,but wondered if you have any helpful tricks for me.
