The hotel is the Palazzo Lakeside hotel in Kissimmee, Orlando, and we give you a full tour of the hotel facilities, the hotel grounds and surrounding area, our hotel room, show you their hotel breakfast, and give an honest review as this hotel has received some very bad reviews!

Not all hotels have a resort fee. I just stayed in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee got our honeymoon last week. We paid 78.00 and there was no resort fee but there weren't amenities like a pool. They had a full breakfast with make-your-own waffles and such. So that wasn't a bad deal with all the amenities you get. I agree they should include the resort fee. It's very expensive in Las Vegas and Reno Nevada. Often their resort fees are more than the hotel fee. Just discovered your channel and I'm already a subscriber.

I enjoyed when I went to Florida, the only thing I found slightly difficult was getting any vegetarian options, always a salad 😅 My hotel was attached to a large steak restaurant and even going to universal studios there were limited options, but you get creative lol Would still go back as I enjoyed it! So far we've been doing ok, it sometimes depends on what restaurant or store you're in and the person you speak to, as some are more familiar with meat free options than others 😃

Extended stay America. We just checked. Jacksonville FL. They charged us $100 deposit. Good to note everything & record room prior. ;) we are paying $365 a week. Locked in for 6 months. Love the kids hangout.

Resort fees are resented everywhere they are charged. Lawmakers at the state and federal level have instituted investigations (politicians!) but the hotels are resisting providing any info on what the fees are based. Resort fees are illegal in some states and individual cities.

When I went to Orlando in 2006, I bought the City pass and found it saved me money on many local attractions. I took full advantage and it was worth it. I ate my first deep dish pizza there…so good. I hope you make it to Legoland.

You are correct. That resort fee is ridiculous. They never charged for that years ago. I had worked for a major Airline for years, traveled all the States, and Europe. Then I can't recall what year it was but I had checked out of the Hilton, and see all these fees. I questioned them, and they told me that's a new policy. I asked why was this not disclosed to me when I booked the room, and checked in. The response was I don't know. After that anyone I booked with, I asked about any fees ahead of time. It's really a rip off.

I might be wrong, but when we've stayed at a hotel, we've never had a resort fee. I wonder if it's just for foreigners? We're going to Disney in October and I've not seen this fee, unless it's included in the price over here. Enjoy the rest of your vacation and keep making the great shows.

I’m really surprised you had to bring your own milk for breakfast! That’s one thing that seems to be getting more common in places is alternative milks! 🙈 It’s so interesting to see this we had a similar situation in Puerto Rico we stayed in a budget friendly place that was residential and €30 a night which is so cheap! But we couldn’t get it for our whole stay so we said we’d try one of the hotels for a few nights and it was around €140 a night so major difference but there was definitely pros and cons to both places.

I agree even here in Japan in the economy business hotels they offer a selection when I go and stay with work. I think it’s because a tourist resort.

Hey Shauna, thanks for your comment and for sharing your experience in Puerto Rico, it's nice that you got to try some different hotels 👌 This cheaper hotel was the only place that either didn't have a plant based milk, or even know about it, or was willing to get one as that usually seems to be the response in most places. Everywhere else has been fine though 😊

resort fees are cheeky, we had no idea they existed until we went to Vegas, we stayed at the Vdara which is really really nice but it had a high the resort fee which we never knew about and we go the hotel on a cheap deal. Once we got over it we really used all the facilities... like free newspaper by the pool, towel service, the pillow menu, turn down service, like the resort fee ended up included so much luxurious stuff we wouldn't even think to ask for... we had a great time 🤣 they really need to make it clear resort fees exsist tho and how much per night!!!! it really catches you out and if you didn't have budget for it it could throw a spanner in the works... we just put it on the credit card and paid it off later so we didn't ruin our holiday, but it's not great.

Hi free gang have you thought about looking at international drive hotels example (stay bridge ,Drury plaza , endless summer , aventure hotel ) don't forget about the taxes my rule thum is allow 10% rule for taxes.

Look up palmetto bugs (still cockroaches), very common down there. When I lived there, we would spray every 6 weeks to get rid of them.

For £12 a head including breakfast (resort fee, should be mentioned, though) it was a bargain. You are in the tropics. They need to control roaches, mosquitoes, etc. and sorry to say it, but if prices are low, you run the risk of attracting visitors that will get tanked up and trash the place!

We rented a property which worked out a lot cheaper for us, I have heard some horror stories bed bugs, etc… some motels are not very safe. I would agree I would sleep in the car my anxiety is would be off the scale. You should have come to Japan your getting more for your pound at the moment!!!

Good question. In general a resort fee tends to be for 'additional things' to the that are on the resort such as a pool, parking, certain facilities and activities. Personally, we feel it would be better to have it all included in just 1 price prior to booking 👌

Fruit look yummy I am in hospital as needed emergency surgery after car accident with wife I cant get luck as this is second one in a year. We was away just for week just us family had kids we started yesterday. Now we both stuck hospital. We happy we on same ward the nurse just said this morning it was the first she had to have a married couple on the same ward older kids 3 and they auntie is coming to see us tommrow. So can have two on her bedside two on mine make it work. Lol as two per bed .

The resort fees being daily isn’t gd especially if u r going out all day n not using pool etc. the list of fines I would be worried if u got to room n something was broken could u get fine. If u have a car do there charge u parking? Did u feel that breakfast was vegan friendly as in staff knew what was in different dishes n if u were there longer do u feel u could get enough vegan food without just eating basic xx

You make a very good point about paying the resort fee even if you're out most of the time, and not using their facilities! 👍 The parking is free (I think that is what the resort fee covers too), and yes, the breakfast was vegan friendly enough, as we were able to get more than enough food to fill us up! 😊 If staying longer, we'd be covered for breakfast each day, but would have to eat out for the other meals. There are plenty of places nearby like Taco Bell so we'd be fine 👌

Why are you only paying £36 for a room a night im going to north wales and it cost me £200 for a few nights in a hostel not even a hotel!
