It's Leb-Ku-chen. - Leb: imagine saying "tape but pronouncing the a like a long "eh" - ku: coo as in "cool" - chen: thats a difficult one bc the sounds of the ch doesn't exist in English. I'd say imagine saying "jalapeño" how it's supposed to be and not "yalapeno" Kuchen means cake. Lebkuchen is basically gingerbread, but it doesn't taste anything like English or American gingerbread.

I don’t know if this is one of the reasons why oranges are a Christmas thing but Christmas did originate from the Middle East, and it is quite warm there all seasons. But I read that in the 14th-18th centuries, oranges were rare and expensive because they couldn't be transported chilled and often went bad on the way to the UK. And they were also seen a a luxury

I was literally gonna comment “if anyone in the comments needs vegan side dishes or appetizer ideas by chance this year look at Indian dishes! They’re flavorful, have a lot of spice and seasoning which is fitting for the holidays, and they’re so easily vegan” and funny enough JoJo picks out so many Indian options in the video lol. It was a life savor for me this year using Indian inspired methods to make super filling, flavorful vegan meals that would satisfy meat eaters too in the same way. Seriously y’all, look up nutmeg or chai related dishes especially, and ones with pumpkin or sweet potatoes. Spiced/chai pumpkin stew is a favorite starter.

Just noticed that you had a Thanksgiving video. Many foreigners don't realized the effort involved in a typical Thanksgiving meal. Americans generally share the labor with friends and family. It is truly a holiday for friends and family like the first Thanksgivilng. Usually the person preparing the turkey hosts the meal at their home. Others bring the traditional sides and desserts as well as any extras that they want to bring. Everyone shares the work and each other's cooking.
