That’s crazy I was fishing there last night under the Antioch bridge and needed to look up how to set up a anchovy

What kind of wire did you use to wrap the fish with? I didn’t notice you tying it off in any way
@familyvondessauer7 ай бұрын
It’s elastic wire, so when you wrap it, it tightens. You should be able to find it on Amazon searching for elastic fishing thread.

good video and thank you. Can you tell me what style and size of hook you used on that anchovy? Thanks.
@familyvondessauer5 жыл бұрын
I think these were octopus hooks 1. But I’ve rigged this same way with other hooks. The magic in this is the presentation of the bait. That’s my theory at least.

What size hook do you recommend? Great video by the way!

I honestly forget which size the hook was i that video.

When you snap the wire off, how do you keep it from unraveling?
@familyvondessauer4 жыл бұрын
The wire is elastic, so when it breaks the wrapped wire stays in place.
@jnavo240oz4 жыл бұрын
That’s the magic in the magic string you don’t have to knot it... I personally would wrap a couple times on just the hook

When im ready to tie, i insert index and middle fingers, wrap it around fingers and chovy twice, slip the roll under fingers inbetween anchovies, give it a nice snap. Or cut w scissors if u wanna be neat.

Thx for the video! Im new to striper fishing. Is your hook rigging technique on this video for the anchovy ok to use for bank fishing on a lake?
@familyvondessauer6 жыл бұрын
Should work great on a lake

Like to give you some credit I’ve changed my anchovy rig and started using your guys method only difference I use two Hooks about 4 inches apart one by the head right below the Gil and other by the tail but I’m using your hooking tactic with a little magic thread world well I usually also run the hooks out the top instead of the bottom but that shouldn’t make much of a difference

Glad to hear we could contribute to your tight lines. Your mods sound spot on. We posted this becuase we wish we had know this when we started and thought others could benefit.

@ia69805 ай бұрын
How do u do it?
@93647NSO145 ай бұрын
@@ia6980 I take the head off n fold it in half the on to the hook shank, so the hook protrudes n tie it down so it looks like a samari fish pouch
