I saw one of these tapes still sealed at BEEP in Akihabara for an ungodly price... Much too high to consider buying... Now thanks to you I know what it's like! Thank you so much!

It would be cool to upload these in their original 4:3 aspect ratio so they can be enjoyed on CRT TVs, as it was intended back in the day.

The EB Beginnings video is interesting because Loid isn’t shown at all and Teddy is at a lower level than he starts at in the final game. Probably debugging shenanigans but it does make me wonder if the order of events in the game changed during development.

How many other English only speakers watching this enthralled because you love video games so much?

Hey boss, if you turn on captions and set the language to Auto-translate Japanese to English, you get a pretty decent running script for these things.

PC Engine was definitely a shooter console, although it also had good CD games. Mother aka Earthbound Beginnings is a game I respect, the sequel is definitely better though. It is an important historical game though.

SD Gundam isn't _terrible_. At least it's trying something (even if a minor ripoff). Also, Love seeing a young Tajiri playing games in these features.
Those River City Ransom players are so disrespectful, attacking the bosses before they're finished talking... :,(

How was Gameboy game footage recorded if there was no Super Gameboy (nor SNES) in 1989?
@JeremyParish6 ай бұрын
Intelligent Systems built a device (official Nintendo-authorized developer tool) called a Wide Boy that allowed devs and publications to record Game Boy footage from Famicom. It was basically a Super Game Boy for Famicom, available only to professionals.

i wonder how they recorded gameboy for this, it looks like some kinda proto super gameboy with the border n everything

It looks like it was captured on the original Wide Boy model. Very similar to a Super Game Boy-it was a development and media capture tool that IS made several versions of (ranging from original GB on Famicom to GBC on N64). They're pretty cool!
