⚠Corrections / Answers to common questions will be posted here! ⚠ * Starting in FamiStudio 4.1.0, there is no longer a "DPCM Instrument". You can assign sample to any instrument. So just create a new blank instrument and click the little waveform next to it. Name it "DPCM Instrument" if you like. Everything afterwards will be the same. Pro-tip, if you are in a hurry you can watch at 1.25x!

Hello, İ looked at the demo projects and saw other chanells in them such as saw,fm etc. How can İ use these chanells on my projects? İ couldn't find how to add them...

@@tunasayl2928 Hey, in case you haven't found it yet, you can actually click on the gear icon to the right of the project name, from there, you can select several different audio expansion that will provide you with additional channels. Oh yeah, and you have to import a compatible instrument for the new channels, it won't work with the default ones

The HUGE part of this that I appreciate the most is explaining how to create instruments. A lot of the tutorials I watched in miscellaneous trackers and what not sorta expected you to understand how to manipulate things to get what you want, and I ended up scratching my head and moving on. I feel confident enough to try and mess with it and make some cool sounding stuff now. And it's incredible to see a familiar block-style editing format like I'm used to seeing in FL. Can't wait to dig into this! Appreciate the video!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I wanted to make some good NES songs, but I always found software like this too complex. You look at them and go "what am I supposed to do here????". But this tutorial was great because it was not just a "so this is all the command this software has", but instead a "let's make a song while learning how to use the software". From here, it's easy to try new stuff because I already have a better knowledge of how many things work than before.

Thus, this version pretty much work similar to the 3.2.2 version that I've been using. So, I will go ahead and update. And then, with some of the ideas from this video, I could now go out and make some dance music and some music that could rival Capcom and even change the world lol. Yayyyyy!!

Yeah the new controls are a necessary evil... Only thing to remember really is that you double click to delete now (or shift click). That's it. The old controls made it impossible to add new features without crazy combinations of keyboard + mouse, or adding new buttons. We were stuck. Now with the context menus everywhere, we can add new tiny features easily!

Thanks for this greeat tutorial, it's really helped me! :D I'm a bit stuck though - using this tutorial as a basis for making my own song and want to make it longer, so trying to add more patterns on the top panels, e.g. for Square 1. Just clicking on the blank space next to pattern 4 isn't making a pattern 5 appear - how do I do this please? :)

Is it possible to make multiple DCPM Insruments with "auto-pitch"? For example, have multiple drum samples that can be played at different pitches and are pitched automatically with only one sample?

Not sure i fully understand but let me do my best. There only 1 DPCM intrument, but you are free to assign any samples to any of the 64 allowed keys. As far as pitching, there is nothing automatic. You can assign the same samples to multiple keys, at different pitches. The NES had only 16 different pitches at which it could play samples. Is it possible to scroll through the piano roll keys without a mouse? It lets me pan through the patterns with two fingers on the touchpad, but it won't do the same for the piano roll keys

Does this have any ability to export into assembly language (maybe with a sound engine also in assembly)? I once got far into the nerdy nights NES Dev tutorial, but got lost when using his sound engine. I made music that I could playback in Famitracker, but then it was extremely difficult to translate each note, etc. over to a format the NerdyNight's sound engine could read... Do I make any sense?

It export to its own sound engine and to Famitone2. If you want to export to some other engine, export to the FamiStudio text format and write your own converter. famistudio.org/doc/export/

It always starts from the beginning. BUT! You can "cut" a note by adding 2nd one and disabling the attack. And start the slide on that second note Look at the shovel knight demo song, it does that a lot iirc.

Evolution of Fami Tracker, This application can't run on my old PC, because Open GL on my PC is out of date, but I can still run it on a smartphone even though it's a bit complicated because of the small screen, I hope that in the future Fami Tracker can be converted to the extension *.pt3, *.st3, *.ay, *.ym
