I'm so happy to have found your recipe; not only was it entertaining to watch this video, but you made my day, you're such a charming lady and I love your energy and outlook on life. It's reassuring to know that not all you-tubbers are boring the way they record their videos, don't get me wrong, I enjoy their video's as well; but some don't hold my interest and not only did you hold my interest, you made me laugh too. We're not all perfect; so there's nothing wrong with making a mess or getting yourself dirty and being open about yourself. I look forward to watching more of your video's.

I made this for Valentine's weekend (2016). My husband LOVED it....soooooooo incredibly delish! I got the crumbs that he left -- he ate the entire loaf in one day. I plan to make it again though. The only difference is that I sliced the bananas and did not mash them up. I then cut the slices in half. Thanks for the recipe Lisa!

I made the bread and doubled it like you did, and it's delish! LOVE THE SUGAR CRUST and the bread not too sweet, perfect! Thank you for sharing.

You can put banana's in the freeze in the peel. When you make your next banana bread simply lay them out for about 5 minutes and then peel and mash. Very flavorful

3/1/18 Made this Lisa, it is delicious and everyone loved it...getting ready to make it again, hopefully tomorrow..First time I made it, I forgot to put the bananas in it, had it in the oven about 5 mins, and looked and saw my bananas on the counter....oh my, I jumped up took them both out of the oven, poured the dough in a big bowl, rinsed my pans out, mixed up some more nuts & sugar and spread on the bottom again, poured the mix back into the pans, and added the nut mixture to the top,so now I have lots of nuts inside too :) put back in the oven and baked....had to bake it a little longer tho, but it came out perfect and I gave my daughter one and they loved it too...so making 2 more tomorrow.....and you can bet I don't forget the bananas this time....silly me eh? Watching this video again tonite, I noticed you said something about you almost forgot to put in the bananas...and I had to laugh .well I did forget it...told my daughter what happened and we had a big laugh......

Sorry to post again, but I wanted to mention about the ripeness of the bananas, the riper they are the sweeter, which probably everyone knows. If you use really ripe ones you can cut back on white sugar and let the natural sugar of the banana make it taste sweet.

Looks like a yummy recipe. I will definitely try it. Just a suggestion to sifting the flour. Put your sieve on top of a larger bowl. Then take a one cup measuring cup and put it into the bag of flour and use a knife to flatten off the cup. Then you can just pour the flour directly into the sieve. It is a lot easier than the way you did it and not so messy. Can’t wait to try your recipe. Thank you for sharing.❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

Thanks, you are an absolute delight to watch. Your voice, presence, and shared details are beautiful. We have a very similar tradition at the holidays with cordials, turkey, rum balls, eggnog, pies, and, after the holidays, an odd tradition of a British version of turkey curry with tons of toppings. Cheers and stay gorgeous :)

Hi Lisa...I'm only a Boomer, post-Depression, but I wash aluminum foil that's not stained w fish or chicken stuff. My kids find this amusing in this age of disposable everything. I love you in the kitchen, more so than those 'deals' but do watcha gotta do...RE: I use an old fashioned spiral shape potato masher to mash my bananas... Next Day...made this UNBELIEVABLE banana cake in a loaf pan. It came out pale yellow, not brown like so many recipes. It is so delicious. Used walnuts & sugar bottom of pan, left out the cinnamon. If you love banana bread/cake, this is your recipe. If I had had 10x in the pantry I would have made banana frosting and left out the walnut/sugar in the pan bottom.

sounds delicious.....one thing though.....according to many recipes I've used and lessons I've been to it is usual to measure your flour then sift it, fill the cup and level off with a knife then sift... you will get a different amount of flour sifting first and it will be less than needed for the recipe.
@prettyinpunk6668 жыл бұрын
For absolute best results, you should measure by WEIGHT first, then sift. Ditching the measuring cups in favor of a kitchen scale has absolutely changed my baking.. I went from "ok" cookies to GREAT cookies just by weight-measuring my flour instead of cup-measuring. Cups have the tendency to pack, and you can get something like 25% more than you actually need in one!

New subscriber here. Started out with Decor Videos and just stumble across this. Love your sense of humor and can identify with your “techniques”! Lisa, I too, have a combo of OTC & ADD; I spend sooo much time checking & rechecking my recipes or running to the pantry to get something I inadvertently had forgot to add. Seems like the easier the recipe, the more complicated I can make it! Since I have retired this year, I have been trying my hand at baking and “real” cooking. My husband says I shouldn’t expect to be a chef, “when I haven’t cooked for 30 years”; very funny, husband. How is that peanut butter and jelly sandwich working out for ya?😉. Really love your videos, Lisa.

I keep the leftover flour like yours to flour my pans when I need it. I have a flour dusting container that I fill up for this purpose. Great recipe and not minding grating fresh coconut, I switched out the nuts for 🥥 . It turned out great. Thanks for the recipe. I buy a bunch of bananas and my daughter doesn’t like them when they start to brown; that’s when I can use them based on how many are left over; there’re usually 6 leftover. I place extra loaves wrapped in aluminum foil and ziplocks in the freezer. They freeze well. Love your style; you cook like me in a sense with ballparking, etc. I also substituted almond and pistachio nuts and it was delightful. I added ground cardamon to the batter also. You’re right parchment is the best.
