Greetings from the UK, we have made something similar but rather than wheat flour we used chickpea flour. We add several different seasoning blends to make our fritters match the main meal, the most popular is similar to your recipe, followed by useing mild or hot madras curry powder as the main flavour, adding thai red curry paste also works well for us. This recipe is very versatile from small fritters to large pancakes, take care, God bless one and all.

Ugh onions. Some were brown, but most were not. I can’t imagine biting into this and encountering an uncooked onion. Then seeing how many there were and how big they were. Would it have been better to leave them out?
