Eric Carr, drummer for KISS from 1980-1991, died of a rare form of cardiac cancer on 11/24/91. He was 41. During his time with the band he was the most open member, and he treated the fans like his friends. He would writhe hand written letters, and was the first one to greet the fans backstage. He was so humble that he actually called Peter Criss to apologize for taking his job. His last video appearance was on the song "God Gave Rock and Roll to You", and his backing vocals are heard on the song, but the drums were recorded by Eric Singer. reports of his death were massively overshadowed by Freddie Mercury, who died of AIDS on the same day.
