This incredible commercial for Nuveen Investments aired during the 2000 Superbowl. And now it's bittersweet, since Chris Reeve is gone.

Same. The new technology made me come back to watch. I wish he could have gotten the Bluetooth device and experienced walking again 😔 glad it’s finally here, though

Clearly they’re being hyperbolic. They probably weren’t literally crying, but it was clearly very emotional for them. You’re the one who needs help.

23 years later and it's a world he is dead for 18 years now and runs to the 20 years. It is like a dream. He would be 70 today but on the other hand he is free now. He was trapped in his body and he had a message and this is what he was living for the next and last 9 years in his life.

This commercial is so special because it captures the optimism people felt about the new millennium. Sometimes the best times in your life are not far in the future but right in the present where you are.

It mentions the year 2004, so of course, we are told that these things will happen in the future. Chris died in October of that year. 😪😭I remember being SHOCKED when this ad first aired...because for one brief minute I thought that maybe he had pulled it off. Could he walk again?? Then the reality took over that it was a hope for better things. A vision of what could happen. Makes me tear up...like many here have said. ❤❤
