I'm Vegan and proud of it! I get a lot of glazed stares when i say so. It's either try to convince me that i need meat, confused how i get my protein, or that i eat salad, lettuce and carrots all day long! Haha. i just smile and say" to each their own but i am responsible for my actions and i take it very seriously: my body, the animals and the environment". After stating that one sentence there are no more words about my dietary intake! Interesting isn't it. I feel that the unknown and change is scary to most people. Veganism has to come from a deep internal place. We all have that place but it can be hidden pretty deep and covered in fear and ignorance.

I imagine you mean that in jest as you must be aware that to eat the meat you have to cut down trees, pump the livestock full of antibiotics & growth hormones etc before they are slaughtered and you then eat them. You don't see any 'damage' there, just to please your palette..? These days there are many, many excellent meat alternatives you wont even know are not meat...Take it from me; an ex-meat eater. Which isn't an argument at all. Most vegans were meat eaters once, and we all found that meat 'tastes good'. But once you realise where meat comes from, and the filth and cruelty of it all then the good taste rapidly disappears. I can't understand how this doesn't happen for everybody.

But really, does it taste so good? It is rubbed with spices, marinated for hours, cooked over flavored woods and coals and then drenched in sauces so it must not be all that good if you think about it, what you are tasting and smelling is all those herbs and spices.

Patrick McAsey I've obviously eaten meat as a child but around the age of 5-6 years I stopped because I didn't like the taste of it! By now I'm 18 and been vegetarian my whole life since that point, starting to go vegan at the moment as well. And I wouldn't ever consider meat as "tasty"..

People get upset at vegans mostly because we bring up the truth and that makes them uncomfortable. If one is convicted of something it always makes one uncomfortable so you either change your ways or you decide to ignore it and continue doing what you know in your heart is wrong .
