These two bands should play against one another more often. Hopefully A&M travels to there next time. I don’t know that they’ve played against one another, ever. Alabama A&M sounds amazing! Well tuned . FAMU sounds like the FAMU we grew up with in the 80’s and 90’s. Outcome: This feels like a tie battle to me. I can’t say one band was better than the other. I like how A&M is half the size of FAMU and similar in sound. I like how FAMU traveled to A&M.

The last time I think A&M went to Tallahassee was in the 70's, and A&M made a rocket on the field, with smoke emitting from the end. The smoke billowed in the stands, which offended many spectators. It was said by Dr. Foster and other band staff, "Don't bring that mess down here anymore." This was told by my Dad, of which he is a retired band director.

FAMU please read!!! You are members of the SWAC. ALL SWAC bands have dancing girls. This gives High School seniors the opportunity to receive a scholarship. You are no longer in the MEAC. We don't care about your past history. Your University made the choice to jump ship from the MEAC and crawl to the SWAC. I know there are female on campus who would have no problem stepping up to form a dance team. FAMU's band is the odd band out, until they comply with a female dance team. Make it happen please!!!
