No problem, anytime! And just so there’s no confusion on the board that is on this condenser unit, it’s a phase board. Not a defrost board. They are starting to be more common on the newer units. It’s so you can run a three phase unit on a 2 pole contactor. Manufacturers are starting to do this to bring costs down on making there units. One 3 pole contactor isn’t that expensive. But when you make as many units as Carrier, Trane, and Lennox do they add up. So it’s cheaper to use 2 pole contactors and then run the third leg of power to the phase board to the compressor. Thanks, Barry. P.S. If there’s any videos you would like me to make please let me know. My email address is barry@asihvac.net I don’t check my KZbin channel everyday so please send it via email. No this is a straight A/C unit. If you look there is no true suction line on the unit. And there is no defrost board on the unit. You have to use a low ambit kit with relay on a heat pump unit to do this. And in the summer time the switch has no affect on the unit being that it only opens the contact when the pressure falls to or below 300psi. And being that 410a normal operating pressures are around 350-418psi in the summer time the fan will run as it normally does. So once the fan starts rejecting heat at 400psi it will stay on and run unless the pressure drops under 300psi. I hope this answers your question. If not feel free to ask me any questions. I will be glad to help you out or make a video for you to explain anything you need. Thanks, Barry.

I have this exact low ambient kit that I need to put on a heat pump. I cant fully wrap my brain around how exactly to wire up the low ambient kit with relay and transformer. I have pictures also

thanks for your video.. Can fan cycling switch work for 3 ph condenser?
@Brisket93922 жыл бұрын
Fan motors on 3ph condensers are still typically 1ph. I would check your motors. Most likely they are 208-230v 1ph motors.

correct me if I’m wrong but this looks like a heatpump to me.Also if it is a heatpump,what is going to happen in the summer when the head pressure is really high since you installed it on the high pressure side.I mean it will be the high side when its on cooling mode.Since you said the pressure switch will open at 300psig and close at 400psig.Assuming its a R410A system.

Why no crankcase heater?

The extra leg for the 3phase , will remain hot to keep the compressor warm . Most All residential AC systems are similar by using a single pole contactor with a shunt , it’s the same concept by keeping the shunt side hot to warm the compressor during off cycle

I appreciate the video, but testing the installation is missing.
