Is the flashing issue due to just the full-screen pure-white flashes when collecting items, or is it also from the sparks and things the taxi generates when it boosts? If it's just the pure-white ones, it wouldn't be too much trouble to write a quick Python script that would check each frame for a sudden difference in average brightness and replace the bright 4 or 5 frames with copies of the before and after frames. That would also preserve the timing and audio, so it could be run on the original VODs and swapped in by renaming the source files (depending on what software you're using).

If it was just the fullscreen flashes that would be super simple to chip away at, but the whole game is kinda surrounded by this fog of flashing and hyper bright visual effects and quick camera rotations. Dim mode & reduced fullscreen flashes setting in-game, for me personally, reduces almost all side effects that they would normally generate, so I tried to replicate that to the best of my ability while not overworking and straining myself. If it was just the fullscreen flashes I can totally see a script like that having so much value for the vod editing process. Very long reply I had to think about this stuff a lot lol

@@thejoopii Ah well, that sucks :/. Your method of using the dim/reduced contrast filter for editing and turning it off for normal rendering seems pretty optimal in that case!
