I love fan lacing because I'm a lonely person with no friends to help me put on a corset.

I remember seeing one of Enchanted Rose's video with this type of back lacing and thought it was miraculous. So glad I got to see this type of back lacing again and so well explained. Thank you

It is always INCREDIBLY painful when you have spent a long time basting in those gussets and realising you’ve done something wrong, cue wailing and gnashing of teeth…

For threading long channels, an old guitar string or steel piano wire can be very helpful. Cut the wire to a length a few inches longer than the longest channel. Bend a very small closed oval loop at one end with needle nose pliers. Add a drop of super glue to the tip of the wire and where the loop closes and spray cure the glue. This will prevent it from catching the fabric. Thread the cotton through the wire loop just like the needle. Push the wire through the full length of the channel until it comes out the other end. Pull the cord through the channel with the wire while holding the fabric at the other end.

This is a nice version. I always thought there were bustled in the back and never in the front. So, I am going to change my cording on my two corsets because this is easier to get into now. Thanks.

Damn, corded corsets are just so beautiful. Even made from plain fabric, they're works of art. I do want to make one like that very badly. I can't deal with the restrictive nature of more heavily boned corsets, no matter how well they fit...but this might actually work for me.

Beautiful work!! Is the pattern tye one from the book, which is all the Symmington archivals and some other pieces? I love cording, and want to learn how to do it, potentially by hand stitching though!!!!

Does anyone know what the pen is that she uses to draw on the fabric? It seems to disappear after a while but I've only seen marker pens which can do this, not thin pens like she has.
