*_IMPORTANT NOTE : Please Read Before Commenting_* For those wondering why I’ve re-uploaded this, it’s because I realised I’d accidentally edited out a vital piece of information from the previous upload, which in part explains Craig’s actions. Apologies to those whose comments were also deleted with the video but a big shout out to Rhyan Bennett for reminding me!

could the corpse also be one of the slience that river song shot and killed in 1969?
@CaptainJimiPie6 жыл бұрын
It seems unlikely to me, whilst the TARDIS Wiki seems to suggest the ships seen in The Lodger & Day Of The Moon are one and the same, if you follow that line it actually raises more questions than it answers, most notably if River killed all the Silents then why was one left? (although I suppose it could have hidden itself and made them forget it was still alive, AND more to the point, if she killed all the Silents then where were all the other bodies?
@TheWiseCollector4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is because it doesn't look fresh the body looks old and dusty as if it's been there for years not 2-4 maybe 5 at a push days old

I have a problem with the Silent brodcast during the moon landing. While we may forget him speaking, people would probably find it weird that every video timer of the moon landing (both analog and digital) skips a few seconds at the same place. The only possible sollution to this plothole I have found would be that the powers of the Silent also makes people ignore any clues about their existance more subtle than markers on your skin.
@CaptainJimiPie5 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily as The Silent speaking never seem to actually take over the broadcast, it simply inserted the clip into it, so essentially Armstrong saying "One Small Step For Man" was live, however the following line of "One Giant Leap For Mankind" was delayed by a few second due to the Silence's clip, so if people forgot that clip then it would still seem like the footage still was seamless...more or less atleast. You've also got to remember this was 1969 so the broadcast wouldn't have been crystal clear anyway, even in it's original TV broadcast there was interference during the crucial moment, which cut off the picture for a few seconds. Also in fact in real life the original moon landing footage doesn't exist anymore, it was wiped and so the only version that still exist are copies, some of which are slightly grainy and jumpy so even from a real world perspective it would still be expected to have bits "missing"

Completely unrelated to your main content, but I have to ask: was that Danse Macarbe playing in the background, as an homage to Jonathan Creek?

Yes indeed it was, and not wholey unrelated to the main content as I specifically decided to choose that to give a kind of murder mystery theme haha and Jonathan Creek is one of my favourites

I don't know yet be pretty weak to be killed by a pair of keys
@CaptainJimiPie5 жыл бұрын
Not really, keys are often used as makeshift weapons in the UK due to them being hard enough to cause a significant puncture wound (they could easily puncture soft tissue/veins or even the skull if used with enough force), serrated on one side and mostly used because they aren’t classed as a weapon so there no law against carrying them. Usually people tend to hold the keys in their hand with one or more of the keys sticking out between their knuckles so they can add weight to a punch as well as extra damage from the blade of the key. In that respect weakness doesn’t come into it because even the toughest person can be killed by a stab wound in the right (or as it were wrong) place

@@CaptainJimiPie Sidenote. Would you forget seeing the dead body of a Silent.....? Its dead so it cant erase it from your mind right?...so does that make the "tripping over nothing" theory debunked and wrong?
@CaptainJimiPie5 жыл бұрын
Well the "tripping over nothing" was never a canon in-universe theory anyway, however from an out of universe perspective it's debatable, it's been established that the Silence were genetically modified confessional priests with their "power" of being forgettable used as a means of leaving the confessor unable to remember what they had confessed as a means of absolution. The implication being that they didn't "exercise" this power themselves, it was a side effect of the genetic modification rather than something they MADE people do, however in theory if it's part of their biological process then they would need to be alive for it to work as once they are dead all functions including that would cease. BUT if they were genetically modified then it's possible that as it uses future technology it could be something which gives their very DNA a kind of perception filter so even when they are dead it still works...although that is just a theory off the top of my head. Personally I'd go with the latter because even if it's not canon the idea of "tripping over nothing" is a brilliant and creepy theory, but it is open to debate.
@backtothefutureman15 жыл бұрын
There's no Silent in the episode, 'cause it doesn't mention it on the Wikia.
@CaptainJimiPie5 жыл бұрын
That's kinda of the point of this being FAN theory, it's not part of the official canon, but given that it's later referenced that Aikman road was a Silent ship in Day Of The Moon then it's likely the body was that of a Silent. Plus if you're going by the TARDIS wikia then that suggests that the ship seen in The Lodger and Day Of The Moon are one and the same, so whilst that's not something I go with myself, given that River killed all the Silence in it, it stands perfectly to reason that there would be a body in there.

i dont know about the whole craig thing, id say it would maybe be mark. craig is clearly a layabout. if you had a traumatic situation in your house. would you stay in it? seemingly for many many hours of the day? that being said. the rest of the theory holds up, and there isnt really anyone else that COULD do it.
@CaptainJimiPie5 жыл бұрын
But as I said in the theory after he had the encounter he would have completely forgotten about it. Maybe he did turn tail & run out of his flat but the moment he did he’d have found himself outside wondering why he was there and headed straight back inside.
@chillcyberman74353 жыл бұрын
Great theory but one problem 11 says “but forget this bit”. so how could Craig have seen that bit of the footage and had the imposter kill the silence if they forget that bit of the footage
@CaptainJimiPie3 жыл бұрын
I think you've slightly misunderstood that plot point in Day Of The Moon. It's already established that The Silence influence humanity through subconscious suggestion, so when The Doctor says "they'll forget this bit" he means they'll forget WHERE the order to "kill us all on sight" came from but not the order itself, so when they see a silence they kill it "on sight" and then having looked away forget they killed it. So if Craig ever saw the moon landing footage then he'll have forgotten that "order" like everyone else, but the moment he saw The Silence he attacked it because of that order, leading to it's death but the moment he lost sight of it, he immediately forgets what's just happened.
