Superb serve @6:12 Been watching WCQ for a while. He's got top potential and now polished his game to take it all the way to the top. God knows how many of these wonderful players are hidden/unwanted inside China. If they are allowed to compete freely, foreign players might rank beyond 1000.

Not to take any credit off WCQ, but FZD isn't in tip-top condition. Just look at this double against XX and LJK, 75% of the ball were lost from FZD's bat. So many unforced errors. And in many Chinese Super League games, I noticed FZD is having some hard time winning (although he still win) and started losing to random players. Either he is just tired, or he could be on his way down.

He lost to LJK a number of times in the Super League, wouldn’t attribute it to some temporal condition. Since XX started using BH more, he’s been a trouble to his top teammates.

On his way down? C'mon he not even 25 yet!! You can tell he's tired game 6 he's up by alot but end up losing because he couldn't maintain. Game down 8-4 but came back to 9-9 Fan just needs to rest. Also Wang played very well.

10:47 - Service Ace. WCQ had two of those against Truls Moregardh in Youth Olympic Games (latter at crucial stage). Got in Truls' head. Really like his game. Not that robotic.

Wang deserved the win. He’s stable. Fan simply didn’t attack enough. He exploited wide to Wang’s forehand well, but just wasn’t aggressive enough.

FZD is arguably the best player mid or close to the table. In terms of long rallies, FZD is good, but may not be better than any other Top 20. He always had a hard time against Zhuang Zhiyuan.

The balls that they use for the Pro Tour have different pictures on each side - one side is the DHS branding, as expected, and the other side has the Seamaster World Tour logo (this is the same one you see in the intro at the beginning of all the videos).

in the last game after 9-9 is gamble to win for both. Several times Fan Zhendong had wrong judgement and the ball going to the backhand corner, especially the last two points in a row. Unlike Wang Chuqin react after waiting where the ball goes. FanZhendong wasn't patient in the last game

I think FZD will be the next grand slam. FZD's game is in transition mode where instead of utilyzing all his body for attack he should be using techniques like ma long to win the matches, as he has to realise that he can not always be a 21 year old kid.

Unfortunately, the latest Fan Zhendong isn't the monster he used to look like. He is unable to overwhelm his opponent with the same great reflexes and movements as before. Of course, the current record is not as bad as the average player. If injuries are not the cause, his slump is likely to be prolonged.

Agreed. We all miss LGL. Didn't realize the immense contribution he put into the national TT team. Once heard his courtside comments AFTER the sack then noticed he CAN always dissect/pinpoint how/what both sides are doing, RIGHT OR WRONG. That's how he, over the years, guided his players to get the edge for a win. What a loss/pity/misery!

Wang Chuqin sert presque toujours au dessus de la table, pratiquement tous ses services sont faux. Déjà que le jeté de balle de Fan Zhendong (et de BEAUCOUP des meilleurs mondiaux) est mauvais mais là les services de WCQ sont vraiment scandaleux. Je trouve ça insensé que les meilleurs joueurs du monde ne servent pas correctement, ils devraient être beaucoup plus souvent sanctionné pour ça, ça les obligerait à les faire dans les règles. En dehors de ça FZD avait l'air absent mentalement et du coup le physique ne suivait pas… Ou peut-être l'inverse. J'espère qu'il va vite retrouver son niveau pour le plaisir de nos yeux !

And again, seeing how even top players struggle with this DHS balls makes me cringe. This is the worst ball out there currently, the difference can be huge even between balls from the same box. Horrible unpredictable bounce and very inconsistent in friction and spin. I hate it. But, they are the cheapest for a reason.
