گویا فناء کا علم یہ ہے کہ انسان جان لے کہ دنیا و مافیہا فانی ہے۔ اور بقاء کا علم یہ ہے کہ اللہ رب العزت کی ذات کو سدا بقاء ہے اور جسے وہ چاہے جیسا کہ عالم عقبیٰ وغیرہ۔ لیکن اہل طریقت کی اصطلاح میں فناء و بقاء یہ ہے کہ جب جہالت ہو جائے تو ضرور علم باقی ہوتا ہے اور جب معصیت ہو تو ضرور طاعت باقی رہتی ہے۔
