I use my damper on the throttle on almost 3. It gives your restance and a squishy hydraulic feel and gives you more control. Like the F1 car I might add more restance to make it stiffer for exact control like being a ke to hold the RPMs on launch and slow speed corners.

The quality of these dampker kits are woeful. I have two, one for throttle, the other for brake. The one on the throttle I had on the lowest resistance and during use it got stuck at full resistance, had a grinding feel and could not be readjusted. I RMAed it and received the replacement today. Less than an hour of use the replacement did the exact same thing. There is an obvious weak point in the adjustment dial area. Having that extra bit of resistance on the throttle does feel good and can help with modulation - but Fanatec 'quality' strikes again.

+Guy Incognito Wow. Sorry your having issues with them. Mine is actually working fine, knock on wood. Share the issues with the team of what it's doing so they can hopefully make some design changes for future dampers. I certainly understand your frustration and I'm sure they can resolve it. It would be interesting to take the damper apart and buy some baffles that have holes in them to control the pressure inside. Like no holes for stiff damper and 4 hole for smoother action with less resistance. I forget the names of the little baffles, but you see them in RC shocks. You can also change the oil weight to adjust firmness. I think for at least the brake pedal a better solution would be to have the new Brake Performance Kit they have coming out to stiffen up the brake more and then run the damper at the lightest setting to give you the hydraulic feeling. Because like your seeing the stiffer settings is most likely blowing the o-rings out having the oil go around them internally.

+TJRSim I've contacted Fanatec, told them about the issue and they're going to give me a refund instead of RMAing it. Hopefully a re-design is in the works. I looked at dismantling it, but it seems to be self-contained and if it's possible to fix it yourself it's beyond my know how. At least Fanatec support is good.
@TJRSIM8 жыл бұрын
Guy Incognito That's great. I knew they would handle it. Sorry it didn't work for ya. I'm sure you wanted a working damper over a refund.
@guyincognito87548 жыл бұрын
+TJRSim Yep, a working damper would have been my preference but a refund is better than being caught in a RMA loop :)

I gona buy them soon, I was wondering if I should buy damper kit for throttle and brakes any advice ?
@TJRSIM3 жыл бұрын
I would say the brakes for sure, but knowing I also like a stiffer gas pedal after playing with one I would get both. However, you might not like the stiffer gas pedal so it's hard to say. For me both for sure so I can dial in a little stiffer resistance with the gas. Here is the affiliate link to use: fanatec.com/?a_aid=530f70c9068fe and also in the description. Oh, you might also really like the brake kit. That was the biggest difference IMO. Actually, in high-sight, I would suggest the Brake kit and then the damper kit for the gas. Would be a better combo especially if you want a stiff brake. Thanks for watching.
@MAMAMA3413 жыл бұрын
@@TJRSIM yes I was thinking about the brake performance kit but I thought the damper will give as better feel, for you the performance kit would work better than the damper on the brakes?
@TJRSIM3 жыл бұрын
@@MAMAMA341 for me yes, but I like a stiff brake so I don’t lock up the brakes easily and it replicates a more GT class brake. If your wanting the squash feel like a real road car has than the damper kit would be a better choice. Hope that makes since. Both are good of course just act a little different.

This is a must have in my opinion for these pedals grest video been loving my csw v2m5 and the csl elite pedals are just alright idk why people say they feel so grest the gas is alright the clutch is ok and the brake actually to me doesnt feel good zi finally got it to work right with 85 on it but it still doesnt feel right even with the hardest it didnt want to even work right it also has some wiggle some play and it would feel so so much better without that and I tried everything to egt that to go away I got it close but zi can still feel it but yeah I want the v3 pedals so so badly
@TJRSIM5 жыл бұрын
The V3 pedal is a nice improvement over the V2 for a number of ways. Like the ease of adjusting and the option to add more feel to them. Still, at some times I want it to feel like a mushy road car and other times I want it to feel stiff like what I think a race car would be. It does the mushy correctly, but the stiff is not quite there until I installed the brake kit mode for my V3 pedals. Now it feels just right to me. Takes some adjusting to get the feeling you may like and I just set them for the cars I drive the most like GT3 and LMP class. Thanks for watching and commenting

Hey man! Did you ever do a review of the V3 pedals? I can't find it. Have you also tried the performance kit? If so, what are your thoughts, Damper kit vs performance kit vs both, or would that be overkill? Just planing for the day I will buy those hotties! :)
@TJRSIM6 жыл бұрын
Hmm. You know what I guess I didn't. They are all that people say they are though. You will not go wrong with the V3 pedals. I have had V1 and V2 pedals and all were superior to the competition as far as build and brake feel, but the V3 are a step up for sure from V2 IMO. As for accessories. I would get the damper kit for the brake only. Not necessary for the gas unless you like a slow returning pedal. I do actually have the brake kit sitting in my room. I have not installed it yet and actually feeling I don't need it TBH. When cranking the brake force to the max and the damper kit to max I feel it's pretty strong of a brake that is easier to modulate. With the brake kit you can make it even stronger and I can imagine some would want that for F1 style forces. I mainly got it to do maintenance on the V3 when needed. Get them here: goo.gl/oWRku6

Hi @TJRSim, did you mount the CSHandbrake on the Clubsport Shifter? How do you did that? I already have the CSS SQ mounted on my CSL Seat and i'm looking for a way to mount the CSHB..., before buy it. Thanks in advance. Cheers
@TJRSIM8 жыл бұрын
+Ibrahim Sano You got a good eye. Yeap it's mounted to my SQ shifter on the side. You know the little screws you got in your SQ shifter package labeled "F" on the mounting chart? Here is the link to the chart. www.fanatec.com/download/QG-CSS-SQ.pdf Well I used 2 of those which accept M5 screws. I slide those in place down the metal runners on the SQ shifter as if you were wanting to mount the shifter from the side to something and aligned them up with the inside screw holes on the side of the Hand brake. Then screw the Hand brake down to it. You will of course have to have the Hand brake cover off to access the screw holes from the inside of the Hand brake. Just came to me one day when looking for a better solution. BTW you can help out the channel by clicking my affiliate link before purchasing your handbrake. Here is the link and I hope this helped you. I may just need to make a short vid of it. Link to purchase Fanatec Products. www.fanatec.com/?a_aid=530f70c9068fe

+TJRSim Thanks to have taking a time for the reply. Good eyes, i don't think so! I actually wear glasses. ;) What a claver idea to mount the CSHB this way!!! Is it confortable to use it this way? It will be maybe nice a video or a picture to show the global view. I followed your link to purchase the CSHB. It's now on my shopping cart. I will confirm the order when the product will be available. Thanks again, and you have now one more youtube follower by myself :)

Thanks for the sub and purchase! Really appreciated. Yeah I love the HB in this position. It's very natural feeling.Only better place IMO would be up higher and beside the wheel base, but I don't have any room in that location due to my DSD button boxes. BTW you will love the HB on sims like Dirt Rally. :)

Is damper useful for throttle or can I save money ?
@TJRSIM9 жыл бұрын
+taki38 I have not tried the damper on the throttle and honestly do not think it’s really needed. When adding the extra heavy spring that comes in the kit the throttle seems heavy enough to want to use some light shoes for more weight with my foot. In socks my ankle actually got sore after about an hour in the beginning until I got used to it stiffness while using the heavier spring. I would imagine if you’re a big guy with heavy foot and have a hard time modulating a certain throttle resistance then you would add the damper. I would suggest not getting the damper for the throttle until you determine that. Hope this helps.www.fanatec.com/?a_aid=530f70c9068fe

The damper kit costs 69$.. How much did you paid for shipping? Also my v3 pedals seems too stiff even on the lowest settings. Do know why? Thanks a lot for the video man.
@TJRSIM8 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the best bang for your $ pedals around. The damper is $69 each one. I only recommend getting one for the brake. To lower the pedal stiffness set it down to one on the collar and then set the damper dial to 1 as well. this is the lightest setting for both. The damper will add extra resistance to the stock pedals. Shouldn't be to stiff on those settings. I keep mine on 5 for the brake and 6 or 7 on the damper. Also check out my V3 Pedal unboxed. It will show you how to adjust it. Happy New Year!

Awesome. Yeah, it's only $29.95 and I believe it's worth the upgrade. I tried a couple iterations but settled on using 2 green 13 mm as my favorite. It stiff enough for us strong-legged people, but also offers enough travel to modulate the brake. Plus you can always just turn the adjuster to make it stiffer or less stiff Here is my Affiliate link. Doesn't cost you anything just helps the channel. goo.gl/oWRku6

Rachid Khamlichi Besure to use my link. Helps the channel out but cost you nothing. www.fanatec.com/?a_aid=530f70c9068fe Adding this to the brake makes it feel more hydraulic like but is not nessasary. You could try it out without it first and then if you decide to want a more hydraulic feeling then but it.
